Manish Khandelwal, PhD, MBA, has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

With more than seventeen years of excellence in the field of research & development and in the manufacturing of silicon chemistries and precursors, Dr. Khandelwal has earned distinction as a prolific inventor who has been cited worldwide by renowned researchers and scholars. Since 2022, he has focused his efforts on developing and leading a team of gas engineers at Samsung Semiconductors. His team is responsible for the commissioning of one of the largest and most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities currently being built in Austin, Texas. Additionally, he has also lent his expertise as a reviewer of scientific articles for highly reputed journals such as the Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, Elsevier based Tetrahedron since 2012 and is a valued member of the American Chemical Society since 2009.

Dr. Khandelwal began his scientific career as a summer intern at CSIR-CEERI in 2002. During this internship, Dr. Khandelwal worked on Copper-Gold Electroplating of Tungsten Helix used in Travelling Wave Tubes (TWTs) of communication satellites. Later, he underwent an industrial internship with Dr. Reddy's Lab in 2004 on the high-volume manufacturing of vancomycin, an anti-bacterial drug. After graduating from one of India's most prestigious institutes, Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) with his master's degree in chemistry, he became a member of the off-campus faculty for BITS in India until becoming a research assistant at the Center of Superfunctional Materials (CSM) for the Pohang University of Science and Technology, South Korea in 2005. In 2008, he took a role as a graduate research assistant at the Florida Institute of Technology and earned his doctorate degree in organometallic chemistry. After graduation, he served the institute as a postdoctoral researcher until September 2012. He continued his career as a research and development chemist that same year with Air Liquide, earning a promotion to a technical expert in 2017. He then served as a senior scientist for Entegris in 2017 until becoming an independent technology consultant in 2020.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Khandelwal has contributed a wealth of research to his field. He has published several scientific articles in highly reputed journals like Inorganic Chemistry by the American Chemical Society, European Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, Angewandte Chemie, Bulletin of Korean Chemical Society, Journal of Fluorine Chemistry and Journal of Nanoparticle Research. Dr. Khandelwal has also published several abstracts in the national and regional meetings of the American Chemical Society. Dr. Khandelwal's research has resulted in numerous patent publications. As of 2023, based on Dr. Khandelwal's research more than one hundred patent applications have been filed and around 70 patents have already been granted. Dr. Khandelwal has been awarded around 43 patents in USA, 21 patent awards in Europe, 3 patent awards in South Korea, 4 patent awards in Japan and 1 patent award in Taiwan, Dr. Khandelwal's intellectual properties (patents) are currently being valued between $300-$500 million by independent industry experts. His notable contributions include creating a novel catalytic route to perhydropolysilazanes, a novel catalytic route to create aminosilanes which are used in the chip manufacturing process.

Most recently in 2021, Dr. Khandelwal gained his MBA degree in finance and marketing from the Arizona State University WP Carey School of Business. Well-qualified in his field, he holds several professional certifications in hazardous waste operations, hazardous materials transportation and as a quality auditor, among other credentials. Within the coming years, Dr. Khandelwal intends to rise to a role as a director of technology or chief technology officer, or potentially starting his own specialty chemical company serving the semiconductor industry of United States of America.
