Mrs. Flores is a health care executive celebrating more than a decade of success in leadership, accreditation, and compliance roles. Initially planning to pursue a career as a teacher, she attended Montclair State University, graduating in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in French education and Spanish literature. Due to the pressures of the 2008 recession, Mrs. Flores instead pivoted into the health care field after graduation, beginning with a position in the registration department of a local hospital. Throughout her career, Mrs. Flores has pursued numerous professional credentials and continuing education opportunities, and she holds Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM), Certified Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO), and Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) designations.
In 2009, Mrs. Flores joined Nephrology Hypertension of Naples as a practice administrator, where she would continue to develop her industry expertise for the next eight years. She became the medical staff coordinator for the Naples Comprehensive Health (NCH) Healthcare System in 2017, expanding her focus to leadership and medical staff administration. Mrs. Flores continued to develop a reputation for excellence and an in-depth understanding of the unique demands and challenges of different health care industry sectors, and in 2020 she was named chief executive officer and administrator of Total Surgery Center in Naples, Florida. Under her guidance, the center has excelled.
In addition to overseeing operations at Total Surgery Center, Mrs. Flores is dedicated to education and is a frequent speaker for webinars and conferences, including talks at four major industry forums in 2023. She serves as chair of the National Association of Medical Staff Services Subject Matter Expert subcommittee, member of the Leadership Selection Committee and a volunteer for the Florida Society of Ambulatory Surgical Centers education committee, and hopes to transition into a full-time instructor role for the National Association of Medical Staff Services in the coming years. Mrs. Flores is the recipient of the Florida Association of Medical Staff Services' 2023 Mentor of the Year Award, building on prior accolades including a Quality Award for her contributions to improving project turnaround time and supporting the credentialing process for her hospital.
Mrs. Flores is a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders, the Florida Society of Ambulatory Surgical Centers, and the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, among other professional groups, and she was recently featured on a podcast representing the National Association of Medical Staff Services. She credits her success to her relentless drive to improve both herself and the organizations she works for, and is proud to have cultivated a passion for process improvement that has had a positive impact on the lives of others.
