A passion for numbers and an inclination toward applying them to better understand history, sociology and political science define Mr. Scales' academic and professional pursuits. He notes that while pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in political science at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis, he built a video game that sparked a deeper interest in the merger of technology and society, as well as a curiosity about programming. While in college, Mr. Scales started his business career working as a Supervisor at United Parcel Service where he learned the art of management, operations and working with a team.
After receiving his undergraduate degree in 1994, Ken embraced technology and business, becoming a manager and later part owner of a co-axial cable and fiber optic consulting company in the mid to late 1990's. He worked on various buildouts throughout the United States for such companies as Time Warner, Comcast, and AT&T.
Mr. Scales subsequently went back to school and pursued a master's degree in public affairs at IUPUI, which he proudly earned in 2004 while concurrently serving as the director of the Indiana Web Academy program under the Intelenet Commission between 1999 and 2004. From 2004 to 2005, he excelled as the vice president of operations and product development with Learning Enhancement Corporation, after which he established himself as the vice president of business development and operations with Pinnacle Solutions, Inc. through 2016. He continued his career at the rank of managing director, channels and commercial sector, for RedMane Technology, where he was responsible for key channel relationships, creating commercial service offerings, and starting a commercial division while kickstarting the sales team. RedMane Technology's commercial practice got off the ground and grew successful under Mr. Scales' leadership.
Numerous accolades have marked the distinct milestones of Mr. Scales' career thus far. Notably, CIOReview, a leading technology magazine, declared his firm the Most Promising Big Data Service Company in 2022. Additionally, Mr. Scales was humbled to be featured on the cover of CIOReview, also in 2022. He attributes his success to hard work and to having assembled a robust team of competent, dedicated colleagues with whom to partner.
