CHARLOTTE, NC, January 25, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Harvard Business School (HBS) Alumni Club of Charlotte announced today their annual donations to Charlotte area non-profits were $83,000, bringing their cumulative donations to $1,150,000. Spanning over 21 years, the donations are derived from surplus tuition monies from their Management Development Program (MDP), a "mini MBA" style course. "Making a difference in our community is a part of our Club's mission statement, and a creed of the Harvard Business School. MDP is an important platform for us to do exactly that in Charlotte," commented MDP Chair Steve Hindman.

A favorite with mid-level executives of both large and small companies in the Charlotte region, the course offers students the chance to discuss business and leadership principles one night a week for 13 weeks at Queens University as led by a roster of some of the most prominent Harvard Business School alumni in the Charlotte region. "We send multiple students to MDP every year, and it has become a coveted step within our leadership development," said Graham Weihmiller, Chairman and CEO of BNI.

Representatives from the selected non-profits were on hand to receive their award at the annual Management Development Program Celebration on Tuesday, January 23rd. In addition, a donation was made to the recently created "Bill Berry Scholarship in Business" at Queens University, in honor of Bill's contributions to Queens University, the HBS Club of Charlotte, and to MDP. "We are pleased to partner with MDP in this way. It is truly a creative 'win-win-win' for everyone involved, including Queens," said Denise Rotondo, Dean of the McColl School of Business, Queens University.
