Adjacent to his authorship pursuits, Mr. Eade is a world-renowned chess master, chess tournament organizer and chess book publisher, as well as a nonprofit executive with The Eade Foundation. Founded in 2019, The Eade Foundation maintains a mission to provide underserved communities with the necessary resources to cultivate proficiency in chess players. Serving as the organization's founder and chief executive officer, Mr. Eade also aids the academic community by sponsoring annual scholarships for student chess players through The Eade Foundation. Notably, the global nonprofit organization has donated hundreds of chess sets worldwide to individuals who cannot afford them. Initially established in the United States, the organization has since expanded into Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Colombia, and Nicaragua. In addition, Mr. Eade is in the process of establishing a chess academy in Uganda.

Extending his expertise to other organizations, Mr. Eade is a past president of several valued societies, including the Kolty Chess for Youth Foundation, Chess Journalists of America, CalChess and the Northern California Chess Federation. Additionally, he served as the American Zone president of FIDE of the World Chess Federation, chaired the chess advisory board at The University of Texas at Dallas, and was a delegate and policy board member of the United States Chess Federation (USCF). As a testament to his success, Mr. Eade received the Outstanding Career Achievement Award from USCF in 2018 and was named Chess Educator of the Year by The University of Texas at Dallas in 2016. In 2022, he received an accolade for Best Chess Website by Chess Journalists of America, and in 2023, Best Online Interview.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Eade served as Trustee, Treasurer, and President of the U.S. Chess Trust between 2000 and 2019. He began organizing chess tournaments in the 1990s, having developed one of the most prestigious chess tournaments in the history of San Francisco. One of his earliest tournaments was the 1995 Pan Pacific International Chess Tournament, which attracted champions from all walks of life and was won by grandmaster Viktor Korchnoi. Likewise, Mr. Eade founded Hypermodern Press, through which he published numerous chess books from other authors. His own titles include the best-selling book "Chess for Dummies," published in 1996, and "The Chess Player's Bible," published in 2004.

Prior to commencing his career in chess tournament organizing, Mr. Eade was a senior systems programmer and director with The Charles Schwab Corporation. An alumnus of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, he received a Bachelor of Arts in history in 1978. He later received a Master of Arts in human resources management and organizational development from the University of San Francisco in 1991.
