    SAINT CHARLES, MO, February 07, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- James L. Hutson, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Hutson has been affiliated with one of his alma mater, Lindenwood University, in Saint Charles, Missouri, as a professor and department head of art history and visual culture in the college of arts and humanities since 2021 and as an extended reality (XR) disruptor since 2022. Joining the institution in 2010, he has served as the director of online and graduate programs, the chair of art history, and the assistant dean of online and graduate programs.

During his tenure on campus, Dr. Hutson has taught over 300 online courses, designed and built over 25 online degrees, many of which are award-winning, four of which have become ranked among the top five online programs nationwide. He also spearheaded the creation of Lindenwood University's Immersive Arts and Culture Hub and XR/Gaming Lab, where he pioneered the integration of generative artificial intelligence (AI) and extended reality technologies into higher education and online education. The hub notably provides immersive learning experiences across all programs, thus promoting deeper learning and long-term retention. Drawing fulfillment in establishing a sense of inclusivity, Dr. Hutson aims to continue developing initiatives that bridge educational gaps and empower individuals everywhere.

Dr. Hutson formerly taught as a lecturer and visiting adjunct professor at the University of Maryland from 2006 to 2010. He also lectured at American University between 2007 and 2010 and was a visiting adjunct professor at Towson University from 2008 to 2010.

As an expert in his field, Dr. Hutson has been active in the Regenerative Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the nonprofit organization CrowdDoing in San Francisco since 2023, contributing to the application of generative AI for social good. Most notably, he has been instrumental in addressing issues such as homelessness and environmental concerns. The organization addresses the world's many social, economic, and ecological challenges through collaboration with leading professionals and volunteers across various industries. Additionally, Dr. Hutson has been a consultant for the Ithaca Research Group. Previously, he was an independent contractor and advancement placement art history reader for The College Board in Reston, Virginia, from 2018 to 2023.

As a seasoned researcher, Dr. Hutson has written numerous grants, has been a senior and corresponding author for over 100 articles and books, has written for numerous other professional publications, and has served in editorial roles for various scholarly journals. One of his most frequently referenced writings covered the use of virtual reality and autism.

Dr. Hutson has an extensive educational background, initially earning an Associate of Arts in arts and art studies at Rogers State University in 1999. He then received a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from the University of Tulsa in 2001 and a Master of Arts in art history, summa cum laude, from Southern Methodist University in 2003. Additionally, Dr. Hutson garnered a Doctor of Philosophy in art history and archaeology from the University of Maryland in College Park in 2008, a Master of Arts in leadership and a Master of Arts in game design at Lindenwood University in 2021 and 2022, respectively, and a Doctor of Philosophy in artificial intelligence from Capitol Technology University in 2023.

As part of his continued commitments to his industry, Dr. Hutson is a member of the Association for Computers and the Humanities, the International Game Developers Association, the United States Distance Learning Association, the International Artificial Intelligence in Education Society, and, among others, the International Society for Development and Sustainability.

In recognition of his tireless work ethic, Dr. Hutson has earned several recognitions, named among the Top Five Remarkable Men in Education in The Knowledge Review Magazine in 2023, as a Visionary Leader Bringing Ideas in Education and Research by CIO Leaders in 2023, and as a Top Lead XR Disruptor of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals in 2023. Dr. Hutson also received a Service Award and was a two-time recipient of a President's Research, Innovation, and Development Towards Excellence (PRIDE) Pride Fund Grant from Lindenwood University in 2019 and 2021, respectively.
