Prominent Well-being Leaders Launch Concept to Encourage Human Connection, Build Joy

The Drop In Introduces Four-Day Exploratory Retreat in Austin, May 15-19

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC, February 09, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- According to a new Meta-Gallup survey, one out of every four adults has reported feeling very or fairly lonely. With 25 years of combined experience in executive leadership, coaching and development, movement trailblazers Gillian Zettler and Chandler Frisbie are on a mission to inject a sense of belonging and connection into their communities through the launch of their brand-new venture, The Drop In.

"The Drop In is a platform for diverse experiences and ideas that encourage human connection," says Zettler. "Our 'Happier Hours' series- joyful in-person events, rooted in movement and music, offer opportunities for mindfulness and attention in the midst of life's many obstacles."

The first of The Drop In's Happier Hours took place on January 13 in Charleston featuring a performance from Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and poet Mary Lambert, along with movement from FORWARD__Space, a dance-based workout founded by renowned choreographer Kristin Sudeikis. Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation, aimed at supporting and removing the stigma around youth mental health, also joined for the fun.

The Drop In's first exploratory retreat will take place May 15-19 at Hotel Saint Cecilia in Austin, TX. Guests will experience rhythm-based cycling; exquisite food by renowned restaurateur Philip Speer, owner of Comedor and founder of Comedor Run Club; and yoga and sound baths from Austin-based movement facilitator Cynthia Aguillón Bernard. Guests will have endless opportunities to immerse themselves in Austin's rich culture and music scene, and fully enjoy the hotel's historic property including exclusive access to the 50-foot heated lap pool and stunning private gardens. Pricing is all-inclusive upon arrival to the hotel, with studios, poolside bungalows and garden suites available for lodging. Full details and tickets are available HERE, with pricing starting at $3,500 per person.

"We are excited to offer one of the only cycling retreats available in the country, and intentionally created our itinerary to encourage learning more about our surroundings and ourselves," shares Frisbie. Zettler adds that "the goal of this retreat is to explore an interest in being a more regenerative traveler while staying true to The Drop In's mission of leaving people and places better than we found them."
