Dr. Neylon is an experienced health care professional who began her career over a decade ago with Allina Health as a patient registrar and rose to become a supervisor of access center, centralized scheduling at Fairview Health Services in 2017 and from there was promoted to a revenue cycle manager from 2018 to 2022. She subsequently joined Fairview Health Services again in 2022 as the system director of mental health and addiction business solutions.
Representing senior leadership, Dr. Neylon oversees the overall revenue performance on the front-end in mental health and addiction service line for inpatient and outpatient services. She also provides consulting to various leaders within the organization related to optimizing workflows, ensures projects are progressing and being completed, and is accountable for seven departments and over 100 employees, among other goals.
Since joining Fairview, Dr. Neylon has also been instrumental in forming its brand new financial clearance department within the mental health and addiction service line from the ground up. She also identified and addressed various issues within her accountabilities regarding her direct reports not meeting with their teams regularly and began facilitating multiple measures to address and encourage greater engagement. Moreover, Dr. Neylon developed numerous SharePoint sites for her team to store resources and develop and document work.
Aside from her primary career endeavors, Dr. Neylon has been impactful as a former board of directors for the Conflict Resolution Center, a needs-based, community-led organization that offers various services, including mediation, conflict coaching, education, and training throughout Minnesota.
Looking toward future opportunities, Dr. Neylon envisions professional growth, achieving the role of an executive vice president where she can implement significant systematic changes in the health care industry. She also aims to become an adjunct professor, teaching health care administration courses on a part-time basis and educating students about various administrative roles available in the field.
Dr. Neylon is highly educated. In 2008, she earned an Associate of Applied Science as a medical administrative specialist from Anoka Technical College. She then studied at the University of Phoenix, receiving a Bachelor of Science in health care administration with a specialization in management in 2013, a Master of Health Administration with a specialization in education in 2015, and a Doctor of Health Administration in 2023 and writing a five chapter scholarly dissertation titled Expert Consensus on Detecting and Preventing Fraudulent Medicare Claims: An E-Delphi Study. Dr. Neylon also holds certification through the CITI Program as a behavioral research investigator and key personnel.
Active in her professional community, Healthcare Business Review published a profile piece on Dr. Neylon in which she describes challenges in the mental health space, areas of focus for improved services, and her vision for the future of the mental health sector. Dr. Neylon was also featured in a separate Q&A article, Tech Innovations to Improve Healthcare Processes. Dr. Neylon is also a member of the International Society of Female Professionals. In light of her success, she received a Key Contributor Award from Allina Health in 2017 and 2021 and a Rising Employee for People Engagement Recognition Award from Fairview Health Services in 2022.
