KALISPELL, MT, February 26, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Alison Godfrey has been selected for inclusion in the esteemed Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Godfrey has distinguished herself as a dedicated advocate for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education within the Flathead Valley Schools. Since 2019, she has served as the president and co-founder of STEM for Flathead Valley Schools, where her leadership has been instrumental in fostering an environment that encourages students to explore and excel in these critical fields. Prior to this role, Ms. Godfrey founded and directed the Flathead Valley Rocket Rally Program in 2016, which has since become a hallmark event that inspires students through hands-on learning and competition.

Ms. Godfrey's career is marked by significant contributions to aerospace engineering and testing. Her career began as a software engineer with Raytheon Co.'s Missile Systems Division in 1984. She was responsible for a team developing advanced command and control software for the Hawk Missile System. Her career with Raytheon quickly advanced with her taking on more and more responsibility for the management and development of increasingly larger and sophisticated classified programs. She was responsible for the development of requirements and software for new military systems and for the live fire field testing of those systems. When she left Raytheon in January 1995, she had advanced to a senior level as a Senior Development Engineer. After leaving Raytheon, during 1995 - 1996 she worked for Kaman Sciences Corp. and Tech Reps Inc. as the Senior Development Engineer and software team lead for developing the command, control, and communications software for a USAF flight system and System Test Lead developing USAF Satellite Ground Station test software for developing new USAF Ground Station Architecture. In 1996 – 1997 she assisted Hughes Missile Systems Co. as an Engineering Specialist in writing software requirements, design, and code for an Exo-atmospheric Kill Vehicle; in 1997 – 1998 she worked at BF Goodrich Aerospace as the Software Lead developing the software test requirements for multiple satellite projects. She then moved to Honeywell Defense Avionic Systems Division where from 1998 – 2004 she held the titles of Principal then Staff Engineer for Army, Air Force, and Navy ground and aircraft programs, serving as the Software Lead as well as being a supervisory manager for the programs. In late 2004 – 2010 she transferred to Honeywell Clearwater Space Systems to serve as Staff Engineer and Lauch Vehicle Technical Lead for 8 medium range launch vehicles (rockets) under the Missile Defense Agency's Targets and Countermeasures Program. In this role, she was responsible for the rocket system requirements, design, integration, and test as well as pre-launch test requirements, plans, and procedures, as well as designed a new command and control test center at Redstone Arsenal to support pre-launch testing. She continued to support this program in the same role with AeroThermal Technology, Inc. as a Senior Principal Investigator until the rocket's successful launch in 2011, and her retirement from engineering.

Ms. Godfrey's academic background laid the foundation for her professional achievements. She earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics, with an emphasis in computer science, from Florida State University in 1982. Her passion for her work and her desire to demonstrate the engaging and enjoyable nature of STEM careers have been pivotal in her success. This drive led her to initiate the Flathead Valley Rocket Rally Program after collaborating with local science teachers in 2016, which has since expanded its influence across multiple school districts.
In addition to her professional endeavors, Ms. Godfrey is committed to empowering others through education by hosting yearly workshops for Power Your Future. Her efforts have not gone unnoticed; she has been honored with multiple awards for her contributions to STEM education and community engagement.

Ms. Godfrey's personal life reflects her dedication to service and excellence. Inspired by her mother's career as a registered nurse and her father's service as a career Marine, she has embraced a mission to enliven STEM studies within Flathead Valley Schools. Together with her spouse, Steven Alejandro, a physicist, Ms. Godfrey enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, canoeing, biking, snowshoeing and sledding – pursuits that reflect her adventurous spirit and love for exploration. Looking ahead, Ms. Godfrey is focused on expanding the reach of her organization to more schools and establishing collaborative programs with the local community college that will benefit both college students and younger learners alike through mentorship and hands-on teaching experiences.
