A retired professor, Dr. Megbolugbe previously worked for Johns Hopkins University's Carey School of Business, where he conducted considerable research on the economics and business of hospitals, nursing homes, public buildings, smart cities, and communities. Over the years, he has also served in leading roles with Fannie Mae and the Fannie Mae Foundation, and as a practice leader with PricewaterhouseCoopers. During the early stages of his career, Dr. Megbolugbe gained valuable expertise with the National Association of Home Builders, Florida State University, the University of Ibadan, and the Kwara State Town Planning Authority.
Before establishing himself professionally, Dr. Megbolugbe earned a Bachelor of Science in geography and economics from the University of Ibadan. Subsequently, he received a Master of Science in urban and regional planning from Ahmadu Bello University, a Master of Arts in city and regional planning from the University of Pennsylvania, a PhD in urban and real estate economics and finance from the University of Pennsylvania, and a certificate in accounting from Lewis and Clark Community College. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Dr. Megbolugbe is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the American Real Estate Society, the Urban Land Institute, the Nigerian Institution of Town Planners, and the Society of Environment Management and Planning, to name a few.
Due to his vast breadth of knowledge, Dr. Megbolugbe has contributed to many publications, including "A set of frameworks to aid project managers in conceptualizing and implementing knowledge management initiatives" and "Racial and ethnic differences in housing demand: An econometric investigation." With fellow industry scholars, he has been featured in such journals as Economic and Social Measurement, Real Estate Economics, Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Research, Housing Economics, Housing Research, Real Estate Finance and Economics, and Fixed Income.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Megbolugbe is proud of spearheading the initial use of GIS technology in the real estate and mortgage industry and introducing mortgage scoring to mortgage markets during his tenure at Fannie Mae. The cornerstone of his success lies in his Christian faith, mentors, and professors, especially Professors Grigsby and Linneman from the University of Pennsylvania and Professor Chinloy from Temple University. In the coming years, he intends to experience the continued growth and success of his career. Ultimately, Dr. Megbolugbe aims to complete his personal memoirs and turn them into an autobiography.
