MUNCIE, IN, April 17, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Eric Hoffman has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After graduating from Mishawaka Marian High School, Mr. Hoffman attended Ball State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice, criminology, and legal assistance. Although he intended to become an attorney, he was unsure of what his specialty would be. In 2000, he began his legal studies and became interested in labor law and labor arbitration. However, his aspirations changed after completing an internship with a prosecutor's office. Through his internship, he tried a firearms case before a jury before graduating from law school. At the end of the trial, jury found the defendant guilty. Upon graduating from Indiana University's Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2003, he became the deputy prosecuting attorney for the 46th Judicial Circuit of Indiana. In this capacity, Mr. Hoffman reviewed police action shooting cases and prosecuted certain violent crimes against the state, including murders and lesser degrees of homicide.

In the ensuing years, Mr. Hoffman gained valuable expertise in homicide cases, police action shooting cases, shaken baby and abusive head trauma cases, complex litigation, and more as the chief deputy prosecutor for the 46th Judicial Circuit. Drawing on years of professional experience, he excels with the Circuit as a prosecuting attorney, a role to which he was elected in 2019. In this capacity, Mr. Hoffman supervises an office of about 40 employees, attorneys, and other professionals, handles administrative, employment, and supervision issues, and liaises with several community groups, police departments, law enforcement agencies, school systems, and hospitals. Due to his vast breadth of knowledge, he has contributed to various public speaking engagements and some of his legal work resulted in published opinions, including McConniel v. State, Saintignon v. State, Walden v. State, State v. Casada, Newton v. State, Turner v. State, White v. State, and State v. Stidham.

Throughout his career, Mr. Hoffman has become licensed to practice law through the United States District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of Indiana, the Indiana State Bar Association, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and The Supreme Court of the United States. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, he aligns himself with the National of District Attorneys Association, Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council, Delaware County Community Corrections, and the Association of Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Inc. In conjunction with his work, Mr. Hoffman contributes to his community with the Regional Child Fatality Review Team. Previously, he devoted himself to the Ball Memorial Hospital Hospice Program and the Delaware County Court Appointed Special Advocates.

In light of his professional achievements, Mr. Hoffman received the Delaware County Prevent Child Abuse Award in 2012 and became the finalist for the Person of the Year Award through The Star Press in 2013. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in establishing a High Tech Crimes Unit, preparing and managing an annual budget of nearly 2 million dollars, implementing an E-Discovery cloud-based system for providing defense counsel with discovery material and reopening a cold case murder that occurred in 1993. Due to his collaboration with 3/20/2024 law enforcement, the case was solved. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to his commitment to what he does and the support of his family. Looking forward, Mr. Hoffman intends to pursue justice for victims who have been wronged and protecting those who cannot protect themselves.
