SANTA MONICA, CA, May 23, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Nathaniel Trives with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Nathaniel Trives celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

With a solid foundation from Santa Monica High School and a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from California State University, Los Angeles, Mr. Trives embarked on a career in law enforcement. His journey led him to earn a Master of Public Administration from his alma mater and work as a special master and auditor monitor for the San Francisco Police Department Federal Consent Decree and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. His vast knowledge has been shared with others as a professor, deputy superintendent, and chief government relations officer with the Santa Monica Community College District and as a professor at his alma mater, cementing his authority in the field.

Throughout his career, Mr. Trives has leveraged his extensive educational and law enforcement expertise as a consultant for CLC Enterprise, a police science instructor for Santa Monica College, an affirmative action officer for California, and through the California Commission on Judicial Performance. Similarly, Mr. Trives, known as "Mr. Santa Monica," has dedicated himself to the community in numerous roles, including the city's first African-American mayor and sergeant, police officer, and charity organizer. Backed by years of knowledge and professional experience, he excels as an emeritus professor specializing in criminal justice at California State University, Los Angeles.

In conjunction with his work, Mr. Trives aligns himself with the Rotary Club of Santa Monica, the Southern California Association of Governments, the National Urban League, the National Conference for Community and Justice, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police. He has also devoted himself to Santa Monica through the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training, Santa Monica Travel and Tourism, the Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences, the Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District, the National Association of Independent Schools, and the UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center to name a few.

While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Trives takes the most pride in being the first non-lawyer to serve as special master for the San Francisco Police Department Administration. He was also appointed by Chief Judge Robert F. Peckham of the Northern District Court in San Francisco to oversee the Consent Decree as part of an employment discrimination lawsuit against the City and County of San Francisco and its police department. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to his desire to positively impact others and his empathy and compassion. Looking ahead, Mr. Trives aims to leave a legacy for his children and the youth in his community.
