EDMOND, OK, January 15, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Chaplain Anthony D. Allen, MDiv, BCC-MH, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Chaplain Allen, a distinguished leader in the field of pastoral care and mental health, is the chief executive officer and founder of Christ and Counseling 2 Consulting LLC. With a focus on providing therapeutic advice and guidance, he is currently finalizing his doctoral studies to further enhance his expertise. Chaplain Allen's career is marked by a deep commitment to supporting veterans, particularly those grappling with the psychological aftermath of war. Before pursuing a career in mental health, Chaplain Allen's journey began with a notable military career.
From 1988 to 2015, Chaplain Allen served in the United States Army, initially as an electrician on active duty before transitioning to the reserves as a finance non-commissioned officer for over a decade. During that time, Chaplain Allen also worked for Koch Industries and the Kansas Department of Commerce and Housing. In 2006, after earning a Master of Divinity in the psychology of religion and pastoral care, Chaplain Allen became a chaplain and was subsequently deployed to Iraq from 2006 to 2008. His service included two combat deployments, one in Iraq and another in Afghanistan, culminating in his retirement in 2015.
Motivated by personal experiences with major depressive disorder resulting from his service, Mr. Allen aspired and continues to work to create a nurturing environment where veterans can express themselves freely and embark on a path to healing. Following his military service, he continued his dedication to veterans as a chaplain working with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs from 2017 to 2024 and with the United States Department of Justice. As an expert in addressing mental health issues among veterans, he has made significant contributions to individuals' emotional and spiritual well-being. Chaplain Allen is a Doctoral Candidate pursuing a Ph.D. in Counseling and Psychological Studies specializing in human service counseling, scheduled to graduate from Regent University in May 2025.
For his work, Chaplain Allen has been recognized with prestigious awards, such as the Bronze Star Medal and the One Oakley Cluster. Along with earning his designation as chaplain and becoming a board-certified mental health chaplain clinician with the National Association of VA Chaplains, his educational background also included coursework at Butler County Community College and Friends University. As a result of his professional work, Chaplain Allen is a member of both the National Association of VA Chaplains and the American Association of Christian Counselors and serves as the vice president of the C.H. Mason Interdenominational Theological Seminary Alumni Association Inc.
Chaplain Allen's commitment to service extends beyond his professional life through his involvement with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, cooking and teaching. Looking ahead, he envisions establishing the Live Spiritual Center, a facility designed to support unhoused veterans through a comprehensive program focusing on purpose, values, forgiveness and healthy boundaries. This initiative aims to equip veterans with the tools needed for successful reintegration into society. Overall, Chaplain Allen views his life's work as being meaningful and contributing positively to his family, church, community and military and veteran families alike.
