ROCHESTER, NY, January 30, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kimberly A. Harvey, EdD, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. Dr. Harvey, an esteemed educator and administrator, has dedicated her career to enhancing the student experience in higher education. Currently serving as the associate provost for student experience and dean of students at Nazareth University, she is responsible for guiding students from their arrival on campus through to their commencement. Her role encompasses policy review and implementation, meeting with students and advocacy groups, and supporting faculty and colleagues in their interactions with students.

Dr. Harvey's journey at Nazareth University began in 2019 when she joined as an adjunct faculty member. She later served as the assistant vice president for student experience, followed by her role as the associate vice president for student life and dean of students. Additionally, she has been an adjunct professor at Canisius College in 2020 and Buffalo State College in 2019.

Before her tenure at Nazareth University, Dr. Harvey held several significant positions at the State University of New York Geneseo, including as the director of admissions and interim vice president for enrollment management. Previously, she worked at Gannon University as the executive director of retention and student success, the director of new student programs, the assistant director of residence life, and an area coordinator, beginning in 2006.

Dr. Harvey's expertise in student development, crisis management, student support services and leadership development is widely recognized. She has also contributed significantly to professional organizations such as the American College Personnel Association and the National Association for Student Professional Administration. Likewise, her leadership roles in the wider field have included serving as chair of the Student Personnel Association of New York State.

Before embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Harvey sought a Bachelor of Science in mathematics at the State University of New York Fredonia, which she earned in 2004. Following this accomplishment, she attained a Master of Science in college student personnel administration from Canisius University in 2006 and a doctorate in educational leadership and administration from the University of Rochester in 2016. Dr. Harvey attributes her overall success to valuable mentorship throughout her career, which she now strives to provide to her team members and students.

In addition to her professional achievements, Dr. Harvey is actively involved in the campus community and has been honored with the Tyll Van Geel Educational Leadership Award from the University of Rochester. Looking ahead, she is venturing into fundraising and engaging with potential donors to expand facilities and programs for her students and teams. She is also exploring grant writing with colleagues to secure funding opportunities from corporations and nonprofit organizations. Over the next several years, Dr. Harvey aims to further develop her ability to advocate for today's learners by continuously evolving her strategies to better serve them.
