Since 2008, he has served as senior vice president at The Walt Disney Company, where he has owned the development and creative oversight of production for numerous films. Some of Mr. Millero's portfolio includes work on "Fantastic Mr. Fox," "Cheaper by the Dozen," "The Bob's Burgers Movie" and "Dashing through the Snow."
Throughout his longstanding career, Mr. Millero has been applauded for his direction of high-priority projects and his hands-on work with various internal departments, on-set directors, producers and crew members. Likewise, he has identified and hired diverse talent and has cultivated strong relationships with the filmmaking community worldwide. He has attended several prominent film festivals, including the Toronto Film Festival, the Venice Film Festival, the Sundance Film Festival and the Annecy Animation Film Festival. Impressively, Mr. Millero secured permission from the Schulz family to create the first Peanuts film in 35 years. "The Peanut Movie" came to fruition in 2015, grossing $246 million worldwide against a $99 million budget and becoming the seventh highest-grossing animated film of 2015. Mr. Millero personally oversaw all aspects of the film's production, from initial development to post-production stages.
Previously, Mr. Millero allocated many years to Mirage Enterprises, where he contributed to award-winning films alongside Sydney Pollack and Anthony Minghella. Some of his contributions included "The Sketches of Frank Gehry," "The Interpreter," "Michael Clayton," "The Reader" and "Random Hearts." To prepare for his career, Mr. Millero earned a Master of Arts in communications, establishing a steadfast foundation for his future endeavors. In accounting for his success, he credits influential figures such as his parents and grandparents, who have positively guided him. Similarly, he attributes much of his success to his inherent ability to forge lasting connections with peers, colleagues and industry giants.
A deep commitment to civic engagement and nonprofit work also motivates Mr. Millero. He has been actively involved as a board member of the Community Action Team, participating in initiatives such as the annual Thanksgiving Day turkey trot and Operation Santa Pause, benefitting children, animals and the environment. Notably, his dedication to animal welfare is evident as a co-founder of Rosie's Dog Beach, the only legal off-leash dog beach in Long Beach, California. He also co-founded Riley's Red Wagon, a nonprofit mobile library that provides book swapping. Furthermore, Mr. Millero is a donor to the Charles Schulz Museum, reflecting his appreciation for creative storytelling.
Outside his career, Mr. Millero achieves a healthy work-life balance through diverse interests and activities, and he enthusiastically participates in environmental initiatives such as beach cleanups.
