Ms. Williams's journey in human resources began previously during her decade-long tenure as the HR director at Mattapan Community Health Center from 1990 to 2000, then as the director of human resources at Children's Services of Roxbury between 2000 and 2003. Ms. Williams's academic achievements have played a significant role in shaping her career. Her educational journey began with an associate degree in business administration from MassBay Community College in 1979. Years later, she returned to college, earning an associate degree in early childhood education from Urban College in 2012, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2013 and a Master of Education in early childhood education from Cambridge College in 2015. Ms. Williams is pursuing a Doctor of Education in early childhood education and teaching at the University of Massachusetts to enhance her career further.
In addition to her degrees, Ms. Williams holds several certifications that underscore her expertise. She obtained a post-master's certification in early childhood education and teaching from the University of Massachusetts Boston and is certified as a child development associate.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Williams is actively involved with professional organizations, such as serving as president of the Massachusetts Association for the Education of Young Children, advocating for quality early childhood education across the state. Additionally, Dotties Family Childcare, Inc. is now recognized as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), A Women Business Enterprise (WBE), and a Small Business Enterprise (SLBE) in the city of Boston.
