Ms. Custard is a distinguished professional in the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as the director and global head of GMP training and electronic quality systems at Adaptimmune. Since 2020, she has been instrumental in ensuring that pharmaceutical employees are trained and qualified according to Food and Drug Administration regulations. Her responsibilities include creating programs to meet regulatory requirements, ensuring products are safe for use and maintaining up-to-date electronic quality systems. Her role also involves reviewing training records, running qualification reports and performing challenges for electronic quality systems as required by the Food and Drug Administration.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Custard held several key roles at Adaptimmune. From 2023 to 2024, she was the director and global head of GMP training and data integrity. Before that, she served as the head of global training and data integrity from 2022 to 2023. Her journey with Adaptimmune began in 2020 when she joined as the associate director of quality systems GMP training. Throughout her tenure, she has been pivotal in developing training programs that align with evolving industry standards.

Ms. Custard's career began at Sanofi Pasteur, where she worked from 1996 to 2012 as a quality systems manager. During her 17-year tenure, she played a significant role in expanding the company into a global powerhouse by adapting training practices to new regulations. Following her time at Sanofi Pasteur, she transitioned to independent consulting from 2012 to 2022, focusing on providing local training for the Parenteral Drug Association. In 2019, she traveled to India with the association to broaden its operations in the Asia-Pacific region.

In addition to her roles at Adaptimmune and Sanofi Pasteur, Ms. Custard has been a contracted trainer and faculty member for the Parenteral Drug Association since 2001 and a district leader at Primerica since 2007. She is also a member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering, reflecting her commitment to staying connected with industry advancements.

Ms. Custard's academic background includes a Master of Science in biology from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in biology, magna cum laude, from the same institution. Her education has been foundational in her understanding of biological sciences and has significantly contributed to her success in the pharmaceutical field. She attributes much of her success to her supportive family and her late mentor Dr. Jane Hoffman.

Outside of her professional life, Ms. Custard is actively involved in civic organizations such as the American Red Cross, where she volunteers and donates blood during drives. She also volunteers at her local church and with Valor, demonstrating her commitment to community service.

In her personal life, Ms. Custard enjoys spending time with her children and partner engaging in outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, camping and escape rooms. She is also passionate about reading books and being in nature. She is proud of the balance she has achieved between her professional and personal lives; her desire is to raise her family to lead the next generation to be the best they can be.

Looking ahead, Ms. Custard aims to continue contributing to cancer treatment advancements while prioritizing compliance and safety within the health care industry. She plans to eventually return to consulting to guide companies in developing effective therapies for cancer and other diseases like diabetes.
