OAKLAND, CA, March 11, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Stephen David Cesar, PhD, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Dr. Cesar is an accomplished educator and psychologist with a diverse career spanning several roles in the field of education. Currently, he serves as an English instructor at Oakland Military Institute College Preparatory Academy, where he focuses on teaching college-preparatory English and English language development to students from freshmen to seniors. His dedication to education and his students earned him the New Teacher of the Year award at the academy in 2024. Prior to his current position, he was an integral part of Delta Charter High School from 2019 to 2023, where he taught English, U.S. history and psychology and coached the track team.
Dr. Cesar's academic journey is marked by perseverance and dedication. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy in general psychology in 2014 after overcoming significant challenges in his research on post-traumatic growth in individuals who experienced trauma. Despite initial setbacks in gathering data from his university's large sample size due to concerns about triggering participants, he successfully completed his research by collaborating with alternative organizations over nearly two years. His earlier academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science in psychology with a minor in music from Georgetown University in 2001.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Cesar cherishes spending time with his family, including his two children. In his free time, he participates in endurance sports and long-distance running, having completed the Boston Marathon twice in 2013 and 2015. He attributes his success in physical activities to the same qualities that have propelled him forward professionally: grit and perseverance. He draws inspiration for these characteristics from the work of Angela Duckworth, which deeply resonates with him.
Along with his many professional accomplishments, Dr. Cesar is a member of Psi Chi, The International Honor Society in Psychology and the American Psychological Association. He is also active in civic work, volunteering with Team In Training for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Looking ahead, he aspires to transition into a full-time professorship in psychology, aiming to deepen his involvement within the collegiate system and make a more substantial impact in his field.
