Her responsibilities include being on-call, visiting seven different hospitals, performing surgeries, attending her clinic, managing a wound care clinic and traveling to various offices. Prior to her current position, Dr. Velasquez spent a decade in solo practice at the Arma Velasquez Private Practice Group. During this time, she established herself as one of the first female podiatrists in private practice in El Paso, contributing significantly to the growth of the medical community in the region. Prior to that, she spent five years at Foot and Ankle Specialists of Texas. Her pioneering efforts have paved the way for many podiatrists now practicing in the city. The advancements in medicine in El Paso, including the establishment of medical and dental schools, reflect the community's growth and are a source of pride for Dr. Velasquez.

Dr. Velasquez's educational background laid a strong foundation for her successful career. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland, earned a Master of Science in biomedical sciences from Barry University, and a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the School of Podiatric Medicine at Barry University. She completed residencies at Southwestern General Hospital, now known as El Paso Long Term Acute Care Hospital and Thomas H. Corey VA Medical Center.

In her personal life, she enjoys playing and watching sports, with a particular interest in softball.
