SARTELL, MN, May 02, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Chase P. Larson has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A distinguished leader in the financial sector, Mr. Larson has served as the executive vice president at St. Cloud Financial Credit Union (SCFCU) since 2023 and as chief lending officer since 2021. In his role, Mr. Larson oversees all facets of lending, including direct and indirect consumer lending, mortgage lending, member business lending, credit and collections, and strategic operations leadership. When he joined SCFCU, the business and commercial lending operations were minimal, with less than $1 million in the portfolio and a team of only two individuals. Under his leadership, the department grew from inception to more than $60 million in just 36 months. In 2024, the credit union was recognized as one of Minnesota's top five fastest-growing commercial lending credit unions. Additionally, Mr. Larson played a key role in leading the purchase of DaLand CUSO in 2024.
In 2021, Mr. Larson and the SCFCU chief executive officer discussed how Bitcoin and blockchain technology would impact credit unions and the overall financial sector. In partnership with DaLand CUSO, they deployed a core-centric digital asset vault, a hybrid model that allows members to self-custody their assets, giving the member control. The first of its kind in the U.S., this innovation is expected to play a key role in helping local financial institutions stay plugged into the future of money, ensuring they can retain wealth locally and contribute to the prosperity of their communities. Mr. Larson cites his involvement in this endeavor as one of his most notable career accomplishments.
Mr. Larson first entered the digital assets space in 2016 and launched a consulting company in 2019. At its peak, the company had around 60 clients, both individuals and businesses, to whom it provided consulting services on digital assets and blockchain technology. Mr. Larson's success in this endeavor is one of the reasons St. Cloud Financial hired him. His earlier professional experience included roles as a business banker and vice president of small business administration (SBA) lending at Falcon National Bank from 2018 to 2021 and assistant vice president and commercial and SBA lender at American Heritage National Bank from 2016 to 2018.
Mr. Larson gained valuable experience at the Central Minnesota Credit Union (now Magnifi Financial). He joined the company in 2010 as a credit and collections specialist and was promoted to branch manager the following year. He then moved to Northern Minnesota following a merger of two branches, one in New York Mills and one in Perham with his direct leadership as the Mills Branch Manager, where he spent two and a half years before moving closer to home to help establish a new branch in Holdingford, Minnesota. Mr. Larson concluded his tenure with the credit union as branch manager of their largest office in St Joseph , where he led consumer lending, business lending, teller services and investment services, all with a strong focus on member needs and satisfaction.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Larson is actively committed to fostering community engagement and supporting local businesses. He has served as the board secretary and treasurer for DaLand CUSO since 2024, board director for the TriUnity Foundation since 2023 and Blue Jacket Ambassador for the Sartell Chamber of Commerce & Hospitality and Visitor Service marketing and business outreach team since 2017. Additionally, he supports United Way and the Family Achievement Center Foundation as a donor.
Mr. Larson maintains membership in Ducks Unlimited, St. Joseph Jaycees, and the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce, where he served as the Star Celebration chair from 2016 to 2020. He was a St. Cloud StandDown Inc. board member from 2021 to 2022 and advisory board chair for the City of Saint Cloud Parks and Recreation Department from 2017 to 2019. His earlier affiliations include membership in the Holdingford Lions from 2015 to 2016, a board directorship with Lions Club International from 2013 to 2016 and a treasurer role with Perham Jaycees from 2013 to 2015.
Mr. Larson's equally accomplished educational background laid a strong foundation for his successful career in finance. He earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in business management from Southwest Minnesota State University in 2010 and an Associate of Applied Science in sales and management with an emphasis on finance from St. Cloud Technical and Community College in 2009.
Mr. Larson has received several awards for his contributions. In 2024, the St. Cloud Times honored him with their 5 Under 40 Award for Innovation, Involvement and Influence. In recognition of his volunteer leadership in the community, he received the St. Cloud Area Chamber Star Celebration Award in 2019 and 2021. The Lions Club presented him with the Dream Catcher Award in 2015. Additionally, he holds the designation of Leadership Graduate from the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce, granted in 2018.
Among Mr. Larson's most significant achievements is his exceptional leadership ability, particularly his skill in connecting with people. He has a remarkable talent for understanding those around him and adapting his manner to ensure their comfort and trust. His ability to motivate teams and foster collaboration has been a key strength throughout his career. Additionally, his dedication, willingness to make sacrifices and the support of great leaders who have taken chances on him have been instrumental in his success.
Born in Brainerd, Minnesota, Mr. Larson enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and taking part in outdoor activities such as hunting, snowmobiling, and boating. A proud father of two, he is deeply committed to helping community financial institutions stay relevant amid the rapidly evolving landscape of digital finance. Mr. Larson credits much of his success to his wife and best friend, Michelle, who has been his steady source of strength and inspiration over the past 11 years. Looking ahead, he aspires to be the President and CEO of a credit union.
