From 1979 to 1982, Mr. Cooper contributed to the Elwood Library, where he continued to refine his leadership abilities and furthered his commitment to fostering a positive work environment for library staff. Following his tenure at Elwood, he joined Noblesville Public Library, where he continued to excel in managing library operations and addressing the needs of both staff and patrons. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Cooper is an active member of the American Library Association, reflecting his commitment to staying engaged with industry developments and best practices. Also known for contributing to his community outside of his career, he has volunteered as a lay leader for the United Methodist Church and has held leadership roles at Anderson Park Place and Noblesville First United Methodist Church.

Before venturing onto his vocational path, Mr. Cooper earned a Master of Library and Information Science from Indiana University Bloomington in 1972 and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Anderson College in 1970. His academic achievements played a key role in shaping his successful career in library management, providing him with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead effectively.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Cooper enjoys spending quality time with his two children and four grandchildren. He also finds joy in gardening and raising cacti, pursuits that allow him to connect with nature and unwind from his extensive career commitments.
