A career trajectory marked by significant milestones, Mr. Dandolos was promoted to his position by Gannett Fleming Inc. after a tenure as the vice president and area manager for New York metro construction services from 2017 to 2024. Recruited from HAKS, a civil engineering consulting firm based in New York City he joined in 2017 as a vice president of construction management before being named senior vice president in 2023. As a senior vice president, Mr. Dandolos has led teams that managed significant projects, such as a $390 million emergency response construction management program for the New York City School Construction Authority and a $216 million comprehensive modernization project at the Gowanus Houses and Wyckoff Gardens Houses for the New York City Housing Authority, among others that include numerous on-call contracts.
Mr. Dandolos's earlier roles included senior project manager at Hudson Meridian Construction Group LLC from 2005 to 2011. During his tenure, he was instrumental in numerous interior renovations, valued at upwards of $57 million, and managed a $120 million construction management program for NYCHA. He also oversaw a $26 million interior renovation comprising 400 occupied apartments and converting a retail space into a 20,000 square-foot performing arts center, among other significant projects. Mr. Dandolos began his career in the private sector as a project executive at EMCO Tech Construction Corp. between 1999 and 2004. Prior to that, Mr. Dandolos worked in the public sector, with positions in the NYC Board of Education, the NYC School Construction Authority and the US Army Corps of Engineers (New York District).
In preparation for his future, Mr. Dandolos earned a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering from New York University-Polytechnic School of Engineering in 1987 and a Master of Business Administration from Baruch College in 1995. These educational accomplishments have been pivotal in his career advancement, enabling him to blend business acumen with engineering expertise.
Besides his formal education, Mr. Dandolos holds several designations that underscore his commitment to excellence in his field. These include the certified construction manager accreditation (CCM) by the Construction Management Association of America, design-build professional certification (DBIA) from the Design Build Institute of America, project management professional certification (PMP) from the Project Management Institute and ENVISION sustainability professional certification (ENV SP) by the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure.
Mr. Dandolos' expertise is further recognized through his active membership in the American Council of Engineering Companies and as an executive board member of the New York and New Jersey chapter of the Construction Management Association of America. Beyond his work-related endeavors, he is deeply involved in civic activities and industry organizations. He serves on the board of advisors at Columbia University's Center for Buildings, Infrastructure and Public Space. Mr. Dandolos's dedication to mentoring young professionals is evident through his involvement with the ACE Mentor Program of Greater New York, where he has been a board member since 2018 and previously served as team lead.
