Under his leadership, Egret Consulting Group grew to become the largest recruiting firm within the electrical industry. In 2018, he divested this business to establish Egret Advisors Inc., where he currently serves as chief executive officer and founder. In this role, he operates like an investment banker, representing sellers seeking to divest their companies for amounts ranging from five million to 20 million dollars. His primary responsibility is identifying potential buyers willing to meet sellers' financial expectations.

Prior to founding Egret Inc., Dr. Konnerth served as vice president of sales at Cooper Lighting from 1983 to 1998. During his tenure, he played an instrumental role in transforming the company into a billion-dollar enterprise within the lighting industry, a milestone he regards as one of his most significant achievements. His leadership and strategic vision were pivotal in driving Cooper Lighting's growth and success.

Dr. Konnerth's academic background includes a doctorate in experimental psychology with majors in physiology and statistics from Tulane University in 1979 and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from The Ohio State University in 1972. His educational achievements have been instrumental in shaping his analytical approach and strategic thinking within the lighting industry. Beyond his education, he attributes his success to his unwavering determination and tenacity, approaching his work with a straightforward and uncompromising attitude.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Konnerth is actively involved in industry-related organizations, such as Lighting Agora, and previously served on the board of directors for International Retained Search Associates from 2006 to 2020. He has also contributed significantly to industry literature with publications including "LEDs and the Future of Lighting" in IMark NOW Summer of 2016 edition and several articles in 2012 focusing on the evolving landscape of LED technology. Additionally, Dr. Konnerth published an article titled "The New Lighting Rep" which was a comprehensive study on the financial structure of the independent lighting rep; published as a cover article for Electrical Wholesaling, March 2019.

Outside of his career, Dr. Konnerth enjoys spending time with his family and children and participating in golf and skiing as a hobby. After his retirement, he has made plans for extensive travel.
