Mr. Frost is a distinguished business owner, nonprofit executive, master fitness trainer, and educator with a career spanning nearly five decades, focused on service. Throughout his career and various positions, he has accrued a wealth of experience, both from his time in the military and in civilian roles. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in general engineering and bioscience from the United States Naval Academy in 1975, he went on to hold several positions in the United States Navy and Naval Reserve, including as an anti-submarine warfare officer, command and control subspecialist, and as a Selected Reserve Coordinator between 1976 and 1997. He retired with the rank of Captain (O-6).
Coincident with his service years in the Naval Reserve, Mr. Frost worked as a technical staff member at Aeronautical Radio Inc., where he contributed from 1981 to 1983. Following that position, he was an analyst for the Science Applications International Corporation communication systems from 1984 to 1989. Thereafter he served as a maritime business and research and development leader at Martin Marietta Corporation until 1996. Mr. Frost then founded Well Past Forty LLC, which he continues to own and operate, leveraging his certifications as a master fitness trainer and wellness coach.
Mr. Frost's long civilian career also included roles such as business development director at the ORINCON Corporation from 1999 to 2005 and as a business developer at Lockheed Martin Corporation from 2005 to 2007. He further honed his skills as a senior analyst at Metron Inc. in 2007 and as a marketing group manager and solutions advisor at AT&T from 2008 to 2011. Mr. Frost's leadership skills were additionally demonstrated during his tenure as senior account representative at Ultra Electronics PLC from 2011 to 2013 and as an independent business consultant for the San Diego North Chamber of Commerce from 2013 to 2014.
From 2014 to 2015, Mr. Frost contributed as a speech writer for CACI International Inc. He drew from his military experience between 2016 and 2017 to serve as a military liaison and the director for San Diego and Orange County for EnCorps Inc. His dedication to leadership and service, and his commitment to education are reflected in his roles as adjunct professor at Point Loma Nazarene University, the University of Redlands, and the University of Phoenix since 2013. For his excellence, he was recognized as adjunct professor of the year by the University of Phoenix in 2017.
Educationally, Mr. Frost earned a Master of Science in systems management with emphases in human factors and logistics from the University of Southern California in 1981 and then took Master of Science in national security/decision-making courses from the U.S. Naval War College. He is a member of the Project Management Institute, the National Federation of Professional Trainers, the National Association of Sports Medicine, the American Heart Association, and the International Sports Sciences Association. Throughout his career, Mr. Frost has also been actively involved in various civic organizations and earned several awards recognizing his service and dedication.
From 2008 to 2010, Mr. Frost served as President of the board of directors for the San Diego Rowing Club before becoming the president of the board of directors and the lead fundraiser for Community Rowing of San Diego, a position he held from 2012 to 2019. Additionally, he volunteered for Warrior Rowing and Adaptive Sports from 2011 to 2024, among other civic engagements. In his leisure, he cherishes time with his family, writing, competitive rowing, biking, and physical training.
