NORTHAMPTON, MA, May 13, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ella Nathanael Alkiewicz, MFA, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mrs. Alkiewicz is the founder and owner of Ella Alk Inuk LLC, where she channels her passion for painting into a thriving business. Her work, which is deeply rooted in her Inuit culture, began in 2021 when she embraced painting during the pandemic. As a visual artist, Mrs. Alkiewicz quickly gained recognition, leading to a significant commission in 2024 for a Penguin Random House book by an acclaimed Inuk writer. This opportunity stands as one of her most notable achievements. When she is not busy painting, Mrs. Alkiewicz is involved in marketing and networking efforts to promote her artwork.

Before establishing her business, Mrs. Alkiewicz dedicated over 10 years to education, focusing on early childhood and special education for preschool-age children with autism. Her teaching career was interspersed with roles as a journalist and writer from 2007 to 2009, where she honed her skills at The Montague Reporter, a small newspaper.

Mrs. Alkiewicz's academic background is extensive. She completed a bachelor's degree in early childhood education at Salem State University in 1994. Subsequently, she received a bachelor's degree with an individualized concentration program in journalism and Native American Indian studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2012. Moreover, Mrs. Alkiewicz garnered a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing nonfiction from Lesley University in 2018. Her education was further enriched by certifications such as Learning to Teach Online through the University of New South Wales in Sydney and Aboriginal Worldviews and Education from the University of Toronto.

Apart from her full-time work, Mrs. Alkiewicz's commitment to community involvement was evident through her roles as a marketing specialist and social media assistant with the Straw Dog Writers Guild, a nonprofit organization in Northampton, Massachusetts, from 2018 to 2021, and as a volunteer at the Manna Soup Kitchen in 2024. She also held various positions within the university's Native American Student Association, among other organizations.

Mrs. Alkiewicz's creative endeavors include several notable projects and publications. Since 2021, she has shown three times solo and 24 times in group exhibits, and has sold over 20 acrylic paintings-digital prints. She authored five articles for Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami, such as "Inukuluit in the States" in 2019, and created paintings such as "Swimmy" and is of a Brook Trout and "My Ancestor."

In light of her recent success, Mrs. Alkiewicz's contributions have been recognized with awards, such as the Poet Writer Fellow at Martha's Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing in 2020. She also received a Cultural Sector Recovery Grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. She also received support from the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts to conduct painting classes, where she taught six Indigenous adult students painting and poetry. They privately published a book after the hybrid reading in 2024.

Mrs. Alkiewicz envisions owning an accessible one-story building that will serve as both a studio space and a teaching facility, complete with a library, kitchen and bathroom. Her project "Illusion Dream" further showcases her artistic vision.
