From 2004 to 2006, she was a professional staff member with the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, followed by a position as policy advisor to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security secretary. She began her career in 2001, serving in various capacities at the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Ms. Kraninger's education has been instrumental in her ability to navigate complex legal and policy environments effectively. She earned a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 2007 and a Bachelor of Arts in political science and education from Marquette University in 1997.

She has served on the board of Habitat for Humanity Florida since 2024 and has been part of the Fintech Advisory Council at the Milken Institute since 2021.
