Her earlier roles included director of operations at All the Whey and district manager at Bath & Body Works in 2010. From 2007 to 2010, she was a store manager at Bath & Body Works, following her tenure as a store manager at H & M from 2002 to 2007. Her career in retail began with positions as a store manager at Children's Place from 2001 to 2002 and Limited Too from 1995 to 2001.

Ms. Rothenberger's academic background has been pivotal to her success. She holds a master's degree in human resources management from Villanova University, which she earned in 2007, and a Bachelor of Science in fashion merchandising from the University of Delaware, which she completed in 1994.
