Dr. Ulander, a distinguished professional with laudable experience in both the military and business sectors, is the chief executive officer of Bluedrop USA Inc., a provider of critical computer-based aviation trainings for the U.S. Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security. Since stepping into this role in 2023, he has excelled at overseeing strategic relationships, financial tracking, and operations management while working closely with senior management and the board of directors to drive the company's growth. Previously, he served as the company's president from 2020 to 2023.

Dr. Ulander began his career as a police officer with the United States Capitol Police from 1980 to 1981, followed by a notable tenure as a pilot in the United States Navy, where he served for two decades until 2003. His time in the Navy was marked by significant personal growth, influenced by his experiences and mentorship during aviation school. Following his military service, he held leadership positions within various organizations, including serving as director of crew resource management at Organizational Strategies Inc. from 2003 to 2007 and assistant vice president at SAIC until 2011.

In 2011, Dr. Ulander joined OPINICUS Corporation as director of military programs, where he worked until 2013 before taking on the role of director of marketing and customer relations at Logistic Services International Inc. His expertise in business development was further honed during his time as director at Cubic Global Defense and later as vice president of business development at Bluedrop Training & Simulation.

Dr. Ulander holds a Doctor of Psychology from California Coast University and a Bachelor of Arts in behavioral and social sciences from the University of Maryland. This foundation in social sciences laid the groundwork for his subsequent achievements, including his certification as a Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute in 2006 and completion of the Flight and Ground Simulation Course at Binghamton University in 2012.

Dr. Ulander's commitment to industry advancement is evident through his involvement with several professional organizations. He serves as secretary on the executive board of directors for the National Center For Simulation and has been an advisor to the VR/AR Association Orlando Chapter since 2019. His leadership roles have included chairing the executive committee for the National Training and Simulation Association and presiding over the National Defense Industrial Association First Coast Chapter.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Ulander is actively engaged in civic activities, volunteering with Hibernia Baptist Church's security team. Additionally, he is an active supporter of CHOICES as a financial donor. His contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Helicopter Industry Influencer Award in 2025 and the Orlando Business Journal Veterans of Influence Award in 2023. While Dr. Ulander's impressive career is based upon excellence and hard work, he notes that he did not approach his life's work with a clear goal. Instead, he always remained flexible with regard to what God had in store for him, relying on Him to open the next door and provide the wisdom to walk through it. Dr. Ulander's personal life is enriched by his family heritage of service. Along with his own experiences in the Navy, influences from his father's, grandfather's and older brother's military service shaped his values and work ethic. Residing with his wife, their blended family includes five children and two grandchildren. Together they enjoy maintaining their garden, where they grow a variety of vegetables, raising chickens on their small farm, and the company of their three dogs.
