Dr. Grekin has established a distinguished career in social work, currently serving as a clinical social worker at Cedars-Sinai since 2022. In addition to her clinical endeavors, she has been a faculty lecturer at California State University, Northridge, since 2022, sharing her knowledge and experience with aspiring social workers. Alongside her work at Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Grekin was a home health and palliative care medical social worker at Mission Healthcare from 2021 to 2024, during which time she provided critical support to patients and their families experiencing challenging times. She honed her expertise in psychiatric rehabilitation during her tenure as a clinical case manager and psychiatric rehabilitation specialist with the Life Adjustment Team between 2019 and 2021.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Grekin made significant contributions as a medical case manager and homeless housing hospital liaison at the People Concern from 2018 until 2019, where she played a pivotal role in bridging health care and housing services for homeless individuals. Her previous experience as a social worker at Ventura County Adult Day Health Care between 2016 and 2018 further solidified her skills in providing comprehensive care to adults in need. Additionally, she served as a homeless-to-home program housing case manager at Project Understanding from 2015 until 2016, demonstrating her dedication to improving housing stability for those experiencing homelessness.

Dr. Grekin began her professional work in various foundational roles, including as a housing intern at Beyond Shelter from 2009 to 2010 and as a forensic crisis advocate at Valley Trauma Center (now Strength United) during the same period. From 2008 until 2009, she served as a mental health associate at the Weingart Center and as a homeless outreach intern at John Wesley Community Health Institute Inc.

Laying the path for Dr. Grekin's accomplishments was her academic background. After acquiring an Associate of Liberal Arts in psychology from Moorpark College in 2007, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from California State University, Northridge, in 2009. She subsequently earned a Master of Social Work from the same institution in 2018, followed by a Doctor of Social Work from Capella University in 2022.

Throughout her career, Dr. Grekin has made scholarly contributions as well. Notably, her publication "Refugee Act in the Trump Administration," featured in CSUN ScholarWorks in 2018, underscores her dedication to exploring immigration policies and their impact on vulnerable populations. Her involvement as a crisis clinician with the Department of Mental Health and the American Red Cross further exemplifies her commitment to civic engagement and community support.

Reflecting on her journey, Dr. Grekin attributes much of her success and drive to personal experiences and the unwavering support of her family and therapist throughout various challenges in her life. Looking ahead, she aims to complete her licensing hours and establish a private practice focused on trauma-informed care while continuing her work at Cedars-Sinai and California State University, Northridge.

Specifically for her private practice, Dr. Grekin envisions specializing in trauma work using harm-reduction methods alongside cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy techniques. She also hopes to retire early and establish a nonprofit organization dedicated to age-appropriate rehabilitation services for teens and young adults, addressing critical gaps in this area of care.
