Influenced by his brother-in-law Josh, Mr. Cruz transitioned into the insurance industry at 18, obtaining his insurance license in just under two weeks after completing an insurance course in December 2014.

Originally from Honduras, he acknowledges that starting a business may feel out of reach for most, especially if someone comes from another country or lacks initial knowledge; however, he believes that it is possible because he did it. While he has succeeded as a business owner, Mr. Cruz considers balancing his roles as a father, husband and business owner while persevering through challenges as his most notable achievement. In 2019, he was involved in a nearly fatal car accident that resulted in over a month-long hospital stay, including time in intensive care. This incident not only underscored the critical role of health insurance in providing financial protection during unforeseen events, as medical expenses exceeded one million dollars, but also served as a significant event that shaped his overall perspective and reinforced his belief that he had a greater mission to fulfill within the insurance industry.

In all he has pursued and achieved, Mr. Cruz attributes his achievements to a strong family foundation and support system, particularly acknowledging his wife as a pivotal influence. Thanks to their support and his tireless efforts, he has reached the 10-year mark with Comfort Insurance & Finances, which is particularly significant given that over 95% of businesses do not survive their first decade—a true testament to his determination and resilience. Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Cruz actively volunteers with Catholic Ministries, Marriages and Victory, and continuously donates to St. Jude Children's Hospital, demonstrating his commitment to giving back to the community.
