/24-7PressRelease/ - Denver, CO, June 5, 2008, Dr. Elizabeth M. Owen, Assistant Professor for the University of Denver, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education.
Dr. Owen has more than 13 years of professional experience in education including three years of experience as the Asian Art Historian for the University of Denver. She is considered to be an expert in Asian art history. Her daily responsibilities include teaching Asian art history, Chinese, Japanese and Silk Road visual and material culture, advising students and overseeing administrative duties. She attributes her success to her hard work, dedication, and passion for art and culture.
A product of Yale University, Dr. Owen obtained her Ph.D. in Art History in 2005, her Masters of Philosophy in 1998 and her Master of Arts in Art History in 1994. Additionally, she earned her Master of Arts in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Bryn Mawr College in 1985. She is a member of the 2008 Marquis Who's Who in America, the 2008 Who's Who in Fine Arts Higher Education, the Association of Asian Studies and the College Art Association. She is Chairwoman of the Bryn Mawr College's Alumnae Association Network in Colorado. Dr. Owen is the recipient of the 2005 Service Award from the Asian Art Association of the Denver Art Museum, the 2004 Dean's Fund for Excellence Award from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and the 2001 Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award from Southern Connecticut State University.
