RUIDOSO, NM, June 30, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael Mussachia has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Mussachia is a distinguished academic, author and advocate whose multifaceted career spans philosophy, physics, civil rights and science fiction. Now residing in the serene mountain town of Ruidoso after retiring in 2013, he has dedicated himself to writing, culminating in the completion of his 13-volume sci-fi series, "The Savior: A Scientific, Theological and Sexual Fantasy," available on Amazon, Kindle, Goodreads and Barnes & Noble. Each volume in the series has its own title, beginning with the first installment, "The Amazing Mutant Boy." Mr. Mussachia's series, which explores the intersection of science, theology and human desire, has earned praise for its philosophical depth and bold imagination.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Mussachia served as a professor of philosophy at San Diego State University and San Diego Mesa College from 1990 to 2013, shaping minds across generations. Earlier, he taught at San Diego City College and held appointments at Madison University and National University. His international academic contributions include a faculty position at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden and earlier work as an assistant professor of physics at the University of Maryland. Mr. Mussachia's early career also included NASA research on solar plasma flow.
Building on his natural talent in the field of mathematics, Mr. Mussachia's career evolved from a focus on theoretical physics into the philosophy of science and cognition, where he developed a reputation for rigorous thought and interdisciplinary insight. Additionally, he has authored several academic works for Cengage while continuing to engage with intellectual discourse through his creative projects.
Beyond the classroom, Mr. Mussachia has been a lifelong advocate for civil rights and social justice. During his tenure at the University of Maryland, he stood in solidarity with Black campus workers fighting to unionize, marching beside them in defiance of administrative opposition. His political activism also extended to the anti-Vietnam War movement, guided by a principled stand against participation in the war.
Reflecting on his journey, Mr. Mussachia credits his success to the educational opportunities afforded by his family's financial support, including studies at UCLA, the University of Grenoble in France and the University of California, Irvine. He openly acknowledges the role his race, gender and class have played in shielding him from systemic discrimination, a reflection of his lifelong commitment to equity and introspective self-awareness.
In his personal life, Mr. Mussachia enjoys writing, hiking and exploring nature and wildlife. Looking ahead, he remains committed to sharing his vision with a wider audience, hoping his work sparks curiosity, challenges assumptions and entertains through thoughtful speculation. His legacy is one of critical thinking, creative risk-taking and enduring advocacy for truth and justice. Mr. Mussachia's current focus is on promoting "The Savior Story" across platforms and reaching readers who seek bold narratives grounded in philosophical inquiry.
