Dr. Chumley is a distinguished executive producer, director and author whose career spans feature films, documentaries, television specials and radio programming. Since assuming the role of chief executive officer and senior executive producer of Ancient Eagle Films LLC in 2018, he has been at the forefront of producing content that explores themes of faith, spirituality and human resilience. His current projects include "The Belt," a dramatic feature commissioned by Abbott Ephraim of the Holy and Great Monastery Vatopaidi in Mount Athos, Greece, "Until You Are Loved," a poignant story about transformation through kindness, and "Mysteries of the Jesus Prayer 2."

In addition to his role at Ancient Eagle Films, Dr. Chumley has been the owner and partner of Home Sweet Home LLC since 1999 and the chief executive officer and owner of Magnetic Arts LLC since 1987. His expertise in content strategy, editing and content development has earned him recognition as a leader in his field. His work has also been featured in prominent publications, such as People magazine and on platforms like NBC's Today Show.

Prior to these roles, Dr. Chumley served as executive producer and director of media at Columbia University's Institute for Religion, Culture and Public Life from 2008 to 2013. Earlier, he worked as a contributing editor at Beliefnet from 1999 to 2011 and as an associate world liaison to ABC Network during the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.

As a young man, Dr. Chumley worked his way up the ladder, starting at WTTV Channel 4 in Indianapolis and Bloomington, Indiana, as a production assistant and cameraman during high school. Within a year, he was quickly promoted to directing two live television shows in the morning before attending high school in the afternoon, working part time for WTTV from ages 12 to 17.

Dr. Chumley is also a longstanding member of prestigious industry organizations, including the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Writers Guild of America and the International Radio and Television Society, among many others. His leadership was also evident during his tenure as Chairman of the Manhattan Neighborhood Network from 2008 to 2017.

Creatively, Dr. Chumley has directed many films and published written works that contributed to his industry. He is the producer and director, "Getting the Love You Want: A Guide for Couples," on PBS and VISN TV, and is also the author of "Dr. Norris Chumley Satisfied Life" daily column, among many other works.

Dr. Chumley's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in film, television and radio from New York University in 1981, where he graduated magna cum laude. He furthered his education at Union Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Arts in Theology and the Arts, a Master of Philosophy and a PhD in 2008. His studies led him to discover Orthodox Christianity and its connection to mysticism, culminating in his conversion to Greek Orthodox Christianity more than 15 years ago.

Throughout his career, Dr. Chumley has been recognized with numerous awards and honors. He received an Emmy award for Best Director for "Grand Central Dances" in 1991 and was a recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts grant in 1988. His contributions to media have also been acknowledged with the Founders Award from New York University in 1981 and the Grand Prize of the American Film Institute.

Dr. Chumley's involvement extends beyond his professional achievements to civic associations and philanthropic efforts. He serves on the advisory board of the Buskirk-Chumley Theater in Bloomington, Indiana, and is a consultant for the Institute for Imago Relationship Therapy in New York City. His commitment to community service is further exemplified by his past roles as trustee for Friends House in Rosehill and Friends Seminary in New York City.

In his personal life, Dr. Chumley enjoys spending time with his family, including his two children. Despite facing challenges with self-esteem during his childhood due to being overweight, he is proud to have maintained a 200-pound weight loss for over three decades.
