With 37 years of experience in architecture, Mr. Jacobs founded Jacobs Architectural Group LLC in 2008. The company specializes in retail, multifamily, senior housing, and industrial projects. A registered architect in Texas and Florida, he is currently designing a bayside restaurant on South Padre Island and an office building and pediatric clinic in Houston, Texas. Since 2014, he has also been a company owner and partner at JJJL PLLC, which focuses on projects in South Texas, near the Mexican border.
Beginning his professional career, Mr. Jacobs completed an internship at a medical design firm in Boston, Massachusetts, as part of his education before returning to the University of Texas to complete his education. He returned to Boston for three years before accepting a position in Honolulu, where he focused on hotels and resorts in the Pacific Rim, including Saipan, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Hawaii. In 1991, Mr. Jacobs returned to Boston before settling in Texas, where he has been practicing architecture since.
Mr. Jacobs's academic background includes a Bachelor of Architecture from The University of Texas at Austin, completed in 1987, and a Master of Arts in bible and theology from Lincoln Christian University. Additionally, he studied photography with a well-known fine arts photographer. He is enthusiastic about photography and the arts, which complement his architectural pursuits. During college, he studied abroad in England and participated in a summer workshop focusing on urban planning that concluded in France.
Beyond his education, Mr. Jacobs attributes his success to his integrity, commitment to promises, effective communication and relationship-building skills. He learned the values of hard work and perseverance from his mother, Peggy Robinson. Throughout his career, Mr. Jacobs has been known for his ability to establish meaningful relationships with the individuals he encounters. He takes pride in these relationships and values them as integral to his success.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Jacobs is actively involved in various civic organizations, including HOPE Worldwide, the Coastal Conservation Association and the Houston Food Bank. He also participates in ministry work with The Greater Houston Church, where, alongside his wife, Angie, he focuses on pre-marriage counseling.
Looking ahead, Mr. Jacobs plans to continue working while exploring other interests, including his love for travel. He has developed a flexible work approach that allows him to operate from anywhere globally, having worked from locations like Türkiye, Hawaii, Las Vegas and New York. This adaptability enables him to meet new people and embrace diverse experiences while maintaining his professional commitments.
