NEW YORK, NY, July 08, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John Oller has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Oller has established a remarkable career as both a legal professional and accomplished author. He began his journey with a robust academic foundation, earning a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from The Ohio State University in 1979 and graduating summa cum laude. During his time at the institution, he gained valuable early writing experience as the campus editor and special writer for The Lantern, the university's official student newspaper. He furthered his education at Georgetown University Law Center, where he obtained a Juris Doctor in 1982 and graduated magna cum laude. His scholastic achievements equipped him with the skills to organize facts and write logically — qualities that have been pivotal throughout his professional life as a lawyer and author.

Hailing from a legal career spanning nearly 30 years, Mr. Oller notably served as a partner at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in the Greater New York City Area from 1991 until his retirement in 2011. During this period, he was one of the principal authors of the report on fraud at Cendant Corporation —the largest case of corporate fraud in United States history at the time — which was recognized by The New York Times as a definitive case study in accounting irregularities and fraud.

Mr. Oller published his first book in 1997, marking the beginning of his parallel career as an author. After retiring from law, he dedicated himself entirely to shining light on less explored but equally impactful historical tales. His most successful book in terms of sales is "The Swamp Fox: How Francis Marion Saved the American Revolution," published in 2016. However, it was his e-book "An All-American Murder" that had the most significant impact; it led to the reopening of a 40-year-old cold case and ultimately identified the actual killer. This work has been featured in documentaries and podcasts, highlighting his unique ability to influence real-world outcomes through his writing.

Long dedicated to advancing both the legal and literary fields, Mr. Oller is a member of industry-related organizations including the Biographers International Organization and the New York State Bar Association. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the School of Communication Advancement Board at The Ohio State University and was previously involved with the Writers Guild of America and the Dramatists Guild of America.

In commemoration of his achievements throughout his academic and professional career, Mr. Oller was named Distinguished Alumni of the Year by the School of Communication at The Ohio State University in 2024 and has been a finalist for the Ohio Book Awards. His early recognition as Law Student of the Year at Georgetown University Law Center and recipient of a congressional internship in Washington, D.C., further underscore his longstanding dedication to excellence.

A dedicated family man with five nieces and nephews as well as three grandnephews, Mr. Oller enjoys golfing, attending Broadway shows, traveling and reading in his personal life. With an unwavering passion for storytelling and commitment to impactful writing, he aims to maintain his health while continuing to travel and produce interesting and consequential work. His journey from Huron, Ohio, to becoming a respected figure in both law and literature exemplifies a life dedicated to hard work and intellectual pursuit.
