For more than three decades starting in 1981, Dr. Munkeby also held roles as a software engineer, program manager and assistant vice president within the aerospace industry. Dr. Munkeby's career began with four years of active duty service as a U.S. Army infantry officer from 1977 to 1981, during which he advanced through the ranks from second lieutenant to captain. Dr. Munkeby's dedication to education was recognized in 2017 when he was named Faculty of the Year at Colorado Technical University.
