She earned a Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary studies with a minor in early childhood education from Texas State University in 2000, followed by a Master of Education in elementary education from the University of Washington Bothell in 2012. Her pursuit of National Board certification, achieved in early/middle child literacy through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in 2014 and maintained in 2023, stands as a testament to her dedication and resilience. Additionally, she holds certifications as a Seesaw Certified Educator and in gifted education from Mesquite Independent School District, as well as teaching English as a second language at the Boerne Independent School District.

Ms. Gohn's involvement extends beyond the classroom into civic and professional organizations. As a local board member of the Association of Texas Professional Educators, she has actively contributed to initiatives that support educators through community partnerships. Her leadership as program director for a summer camp further highlights her commitment to youth development outside the traditional school year.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions to education, Ms. Gohn was honored as Educator of the Year by the Association of Texas Professional Educators and the Spark Award for innovative science teaching by Alliant in 2025. Outside of her professional life, Ms. Gohn enjoys hiking and reading, pursuits that offer balance and inspiration.
