Before his current position, Mr. Popovici served as a technology specialist at John Hersey High School from 2019 to 2022. During this time, he honed his skills in integrating technology into educational settings, which has been invaluable in his subsequent roles. He was a part-time teacher and educational support professional at Newcomer Center from 2017 to 2019 and boys head water polo coach at Township High School District 214 in Arlington Heights from 2019 to 2022. These experiences allowed him to develop a multifaceted understanding of student needs and extracurricular engagement.

From 2016 to 2017, Mr. Popovici served as a social studies ESL teacher at CUSD 200 Wheaton North High School. His work there focused on supporting English as a Second Language students in their academic pursuits while fostering an inclusive learning environment. Additionally, he taught history at Gage Park High School in the spring of 2012. He developed lessons that integrated social interactions intended to bridge the school and community. It was here, during his student teaching, that he cultivated a passion for teaching and mentoring students.

Mr. Popovici's educational background includes a master's degree in special education and teaching from National Louis University, earned in 2018, and a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Northeastern Illinois University, obtained in 2012. These academic achievements have equipped him with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in his various roles within the educational sector.

Mr. Popovici's educational journey was influenced by personal experiences and a desire for a more fulfilling environment. After spending ten years in public education and facing challenges related to the system's politics, he sought change. Encouraged by his wife, he applied for a position at Schaumburg Christian School, where he initially served as dean of students before being invited by the senior pastor to become head of school.

Mr. Popovici attributes much of his success to his family's legacy, particularly inspired by his grandfather's work in Romania during the communist era. This legacy motivates him to make meaningful contributions to Christian education and strive for excellence in all endeavors.

Looking ahead, Mr. Popovici aims to enhance Christian education by focusing on academics, social development, and spiritual growth while ensuring that Christ remains central to their approach. He is committed to making private education more financially accessible to families across the United States and aspires to earn a doctorate to impact the field of education further.
