Mr. Merchant's career began with Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., where he worked from 1985 to 1999. As a practice leader focusing on technology for intelligence agencies such as the AIA (Army Intelligence Agency) and NRO (National Reconnaissance Office), he designed unique networks that facilitated critical operations. Notably, during Operation Desert Storm, he led a team that developed a hybrid network to transfer overhead imagery files from Washington D.C. to Saudi Arabia within a week. This groundbreaking achievement earned him an award and recognition from Lieutenant General Eichelberger, Chief of Staff of Intelligence for the U.S. Army.

Before his tenure at Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., Mr. Merchant was employed by the U.S. Navy, where he gained invaluable experience working in one of the largest computer data centers in the world. This experience catalyzed his transition from mechanical engineering to a focus on computers and technology. His early career also included work as a flight test engineer for experimental aircraft while attending The College of New Jersey.

Mr. Merchant's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering with a minor in electrical engineering from The College of New Jersey, completed in 1983. His education laid the foundation for his technical expertise and fueled his passion for continuous learning and helping others succeed.

A former member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association and the Society of Automotive Engineers, Mr. Merchant is actively involved in civic-minded organizations as a supporter and donor of free systems to animal rescue efforts and pro bono installations for churches.
