Waycross is the only county seat and the only incorporated city of Ware County. As mayor, Dr. James is focused on honoring the rich history of Waycross, which is the home to the crossroads of six railroad tracks. His leadership is rooted in collaboration, transparency and a deep commitment to preserving the soul of Waycross. In addition to being the mayor, Dr. James is also a bishop, pastor, author and professor at Coastal Pines Technical College. He credits his background in ministry and education for teaching him the value of listening and how to lead with compassion.
