Mr. Brown has cultivated a distinguished career in the field of cold-formed steel framing, demonstrating unwavering dedication and expertise since 1990. As the district sales manager of structural framing at MiTek USA, a position he has held since 2007, he is responsible for setting pricing parameters for materials and managing job pricing to secure more work. He also addresses engineering software and plant-related issues that customers may encounter and collaborates with architects and engineers to educate them about the benefits of cold-formed steel trusses and framing. His commitment to elevating the profile of this industry within the design community is evident through his efforts in training incoming management recruits, a practice he began during his tenure at Dietrich and continues at MiTek.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Brown served as a senior inside sales representative at Dietrich and Worthington Industries from 1990 to 2008. During this time, he honed his skills in public speaking, negotiating, territory development, trade shows, CEU presentations, roof framing systems, floor trusses and wall panel fabrication. His ability to connect with customers and industry professionals has been instrumental in shaping the careers of numerous individuals now working across industry-leading organizations.

Mr. Brown's academic background laid a strong foundation for his professional achievements. He attended a Master of Business Administration program at Youngstown State University in 1989 and completed a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and business from Grove City College in 1981. Additionally, he completed coursework at the University of Dayton. These educational experiences have equipped him with strong oral and written communication skills, which he acknowledges as key factors in his long-standing success in sales. Whereas technical and mathematical skills can be gained gradually, he believes that the confidence to engage with diverse audiences and present effectively is needed at the outset of one's career.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Brown is an active member of the Steel Framing Industry Association. He won numerous sales awards including the President's Council Award. Beyond his career, he is dedicated to civic engagement as a volunteer at his local church. In his free time, he also enjoys collecting old Corvettes, attending car shows and cruise-ins and spending time with his family, including his wife and two children.

In the upcoming years, Mr. Brown envisions continuing in his current role with MiTek USA, seeking to show new talent that a college major or initial career doesn't determine long-term success. Though he began in business with no engineering background, his hands-on experience and adaptability led him to become a recognized expert in cold-formed steel framing. As he nears retirement and plans for a gradual transition, he looks forward to spending more time with family, indulging in his passion for classic cars and enjoying life by the beach with his wife and children.
