Mr. Picasso commenced his career in athletics, having been recognized twice as an Olympic qualifier. Building on the success of this venture, he learned the values of determination, perseverance and hard work, principles that have since guided his career journey. In this regard, he attributes much of his success to his keen ability to balance multiple responsibilities simultaneously and maintain a degree of persistence that has allowed him to excel. As an immigrant from Uruguay, Mr. Picasso initially faced challenges in gaining acceptance from his peers. As time progressed, he developed strategies within his swim team to navigate competitive sports circles and helped coaches recruit international swimmers, introducing diversity and equity to his environment. Today, Mr. Picasso possesses a strong desire to assist future Olympians and wishes to give back to his home country and its athletes. He often helps triathletes with their swimming skills and is a member of F3, a community organization focused on fitness, faith and fellowship.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Picasso was a regional sales director for a startup at Techno Hydro USA from 2022 to 2023, where he honed his expertise in managing sales teams and expanding market reach. From 2017 to 2022, he was a business development manager for Central America and the Caribbean at Wärtsilä, driving growth and forging strategic partnerships. His tenure at Wärtsilä also included serving as senior proposal manager from 2015 to 2017, where he crafted winning proposals that secured key contracts. Previously, he served as an inside sales manager at Jacobs, a project engineer manager at Shell and a project engineer at WorleyParsons, where he also worked as an electrical engineer. His initial industry experience came as a research and development intern at Toshiba America in 2008.

Academically, Mr. Picasso is pursuing a postgraduate degree in international sports management from the University of London, which he is leveraging to assist swimmers and manage sports programs. He also received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University and a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Beyond his professional and academic achievements, Mr. Picasso is a member of the World Olympic Association, the Aggie Network and the Project Management Institute, where he is recognized as a Project Management Professional.
