ABINGDON, MD, August 27, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Morgan B. Killefer has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Killefer has established a distinguished career in the fields of radiation, biology and physics, earning recognition for her expertise and leadership. For the past seven years, she has served with the United States Army Corps of Engineers, where she holds the title of health physicist, health and safety professional, and project manager. In her role since 2018, she is responsible for reviewing documents, planning projects, overseeing project sites and conducting compliance checks. Her work is integral to environmental cleanup efforts, particularly those involving radioactive materials.
Among Ms. Killefer's most significant professional achievements is her involvement in Operation Tomodachi as part of the Fukushima cleanup in Japan. Working alongside the United States Navy, she contributed to critical recovery operations following the Fukushima Dai-ichi reactor accident. This experience was foundational to her later trajectory within the Army Corps of Engineers, where she advanced from learning operational fundamentals to becoming a technical lead and now manages substantial portions of major programs.
Prior to joining the Army Corps of Engineers, Ms. Killefer was a graduate teaching assistant at The University of Toledo from 2015 to 2017. In this position, she supported academic instruction in physics while furthering her own studies at the graduate level. From 2013 to 2015, she worked as a physics tutor at Hastings College, providing guidance to undergraduate students in physics concepts and problem-solving techniques.
In 2014, Ms. Killefer was selected as an American Association of Physicists in Medicine fellow at University of Maryland Medical Center, where she gained exposure to medical physics applications and research methodologies. Her earlier experience includes participation in a Physics Research Experience for Undergraduates program at The Pennsylvania State University in 2013, which provided hands-on research opportunities in advanced bioengineering topics.
Throughout her career, Ms. Killefer has been actively involved in professional organizations and honor societies that reflect her commitment to academic excellence and leadership development. She has held leadership roles such as co-president and vice president of finances for the Inter-Greek Council from 2013 to 2015 and co-president of Kappa Rho Upsilon from 2014 to 2015. Also a member of the Health Physics Society, she served as vice president of Order of Omega for one year and co-president and other leadership roles of Alpha Delta Alpha from 2011 to 2014.
In addition to her impact outside the classroom, Ms. Killefer earned a master's degree in physics from The University of Toledo in 2017 after completing a bachelor's degree in physics with minors in biology and mathematics at Hastings College in 2015. Her academic pursuits provided a strong interdisciplinary background that enabled her transition into health physics — a field that combines her interests in biology and physics with meaningful contributions to public health and environmental safety.
To augment her knowledge and qualifications, Ms. Killefer completed a leadership development certification course through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 2024, became a certified coach through Academy of Arete with worldAWAKE Inc. in 2023 and earned CP-12 certification through the U.S. Army in 2020. Furthermore, she completed coursework at the Advanced Leadership Academy through John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation at The University of Toledo in 2017.
Reflecting on her storied journey thus far, Ms. Killefer attributes her success to her academic achievements as well as a robust support system comprising her parents — both previously selected for inclusion in Who's Who in America — her sister, friends and colleagues who have provided steadfast guidance and support.
In her personal life, Ms. Killefer enjoys cooking, traveling and maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle. She shares a close bond with her rescue dog, a companion acquired during graduate school who has been her running partner for years. Looking ahead, she remains dedicated to discovering innovative ways to enhance community well-being and safety while exploring entrepreneurial opportunities that will allow her to make further contributions alongside her ongoing professional responsibilities.
