Mr. Garland's expertise in radiology operations and administration is evident as he supervises approximately 700 to 800 staff members, participates in process improvement meetings, and ensures the seamless operation of various service lines, including respiratory, MRI, CT, X-ray, nuclear medicine, ultrasound and mammography.

Mr. Garland's career trajectory began in 2001 when he joined Edward Hospital as an X-ray technologist. His early years were marked by a swift transition to a role as a special procedures technologist, where he operated fluoroscopy equipment for surgeons. This position piqued his interest due to its increased responsibilities and salary. He later advanced to become a quality control coordinator, where he honed his supervisory skills by managing scheduling and resource allocation across the hospital's radiology operations.

In 2011, Mr. Garland was appointed manager of radiology at Edward Hospital, a position he held until 2017. During this period, he adeptly navigated the complexities of hospital mergers and was subsequently promoted to system manager. His leadership capabilities were further recognized in 2019 when he was promoted to system director, overseeing additional facilities and service lines. Notably, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Garland was tasked with leading ambulatory operations amidst unprecedented challenges, an achievement that earned him acknowledgment from senior executives.

Mr. Garland's academic background has been instrumental in his professional success. He holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of St. Francis, a Bachelor of Applied Science in radiology and health care administration from Siena Heights University, and an Associate of Applied Science in radiology technology from Sauk Valley Community College. Additionally, his coursework in organizational leadership at Crain's Leadership Academy has further equipped him with the skills necessary for effective leadership.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Garland is actively involved in civic organizations and industry-related associations. He serves as a board member for GK Imaging-Insight and acts as a community investment liaison for the Romeoville Fire Department. His commitment to community service is also reflected in his fundraising efforts for the American National Red Cross and the American Heart Association. As a member of the Association for Medical Imaging Management and a former advisor for the College of DuPage's Radiography Program, Mr. Garland remains engaged with industry advancements.

Mr. Garland has contributed significantly to literature within his field through publications such as "How Systems are Managing the Radiology Shortage" in Becker's Hospital Review and "Navigating Leadership and Innovation in Radiology" in Life Sciences Review. His insights on leveraging artificial intelligence in radiology have been featured in the Healthcare Business Review (2023), alongside discussions on challenges in the healthcare sector.

In his personal life, Mr. Garland enjoys landscaping, gardening, cooking, traveling, spending time with family and golfing.
