FREDERICK, MD, September 12, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lezette Young has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected based on current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all considered during the selection process.
Ms. Young has built a reputation as a dynamic leader whose career spans both the legal and compliance sector and the spirits industry. Since 2020, she has driven global compliance initiatives as senior manager at QIAGEN, where she plays a key role in advancing the company's mission as a leading innovator in molecular diagnostics, applied testing, academic research, and pharmaceutical development. With a focus on anti-bribery and corruption (ABAC), data privacy, third-party risk management, transparency reporting, risk mitigation, and the development of compliance training programs, she has played a pivotal role in ensuring the company's adherence to international regulatory standards and ethical practices. Her tenure at QIAGEN has been characterized by her steadfast commitment to upholding the highest standards of compliance and integrity.
In addition to her primary role, Ms. Young is the founder and owner of ChulaVie, an award-winning spirit's brand she launched after years of research and recipe development. Her signature sangria, crafted with a blend of vibrant fruits and free from added juices or artificial sweeteners, has quickly earned industry acclaim. In 2025, it received two gold medals at the New York International Wine Competition, including 95 points for non-vintage wine and the title of Red Sangria of the Year. It also secured silver medals at both the USA Wine Rating and the American Sangria Challenge. The launch of ChulaVie stands as her proudest achievement, reflecting her dedication to innovation and quality in the competitive beverage industry.
Ms. Young's professional journey also includes advisory board positions with Biens Chocolate Centerpieces and The ShareWaves Foundation from 2020 to 2021, where she contributed strategic guidance to organizations focused on creative confections and charitable initiatives, respectively.
Prior to her transition into compliance, Ms. Young built a strong foundation in legal services. From 2018 to 2020, she was a senior paralegal for litigation at Volkswagen Group of America, where she supported complex legal proceedings and contributed to case management strategies. Her earlier experience includes seven years as a paralegal with Alisa Kobrinetz Chernack LLC, an elder law firm, from 2011 to 2018, during which she managed complex estate planning matters, drafted key legal documents and led paralegal training and onboarding. She also assisted in the development of firm-wide policies that enhanced operational consistency and compliance.
Ms. Young's academic journey has been pivotal in shaping her career trajectory. She earned a Master of Studies in law with a focus on compliance and business from The University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 2020. The knowledge she gained during this time provided her with specialized knowledge that facilitated her transition from paralegal work into global compliance, a move motivated by her desire for broader career opportunities within the highly competitive Washington D.C. legal market.
Dedicated to the ideals of continuous learning, Ms. Young also obtained a Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary studies, graduating magna cum laude, and an Associate of Arts in paralegal studies, with honors, from Liberty University, both in 2017. Returning to school as an adult while maintaining full-time employment demonstrated her resilience and commitment to personal growth. She credits her success to this determination as well as the influences of her parents: compassion and support from her mother and entrepreneurial drive from her father.
Ms. Young's entry into the spirits industry began organically through experimentation with cocktail recipes. Her curiosity led her to develop original sangria recipes using fresh fruit and various wines and spirits. After refining these recipes based on feedback from colleagues and extensive research, she launched ChulaVie following more than a year of development work that included licensing, sourcing ingredients and coordinating production with co-packers.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Ms. Young is passionate about creative projects such as making furniture and upcycling. She particularly enjoys making coffee tables. She also enjoys spending time with her dog Phoebe Buffay and cherishes moments shared with her family. Managing all aspects of ChulaVie's operations, including social media engagement, allows her to blend business acumen with her longstanding passion for creativity.
In the coming years, Ms. Young aspires to manage ChulaVie full-time with the goal of building a legacy under her name. She is equally committed to giving back to her community by empowering more women for leadership success through future initiatives. Throughout her multifaceted career, she has exemplified hard work, motivation and positivity, qualities that have enabled her to make impactful decisions both personally and professionally while approaching every challenge with grace and sincerity.
