From 2022 to 2024, Mr. Santa Rosa Silva held the position of occupational safety specialist III at Grifols S.A., where he continued to build on his expertise in operational health and safety management systems. His responsibilities included supporting compliance initiatives and preparing the organization for international certifications.
Prior to joining Grifols, Mr. Santa Rosa Silva served as a health and safety specialist at Grossmont College from 2021 to 2022. In this capacity, he played a pivotal role during the COVID-19 pandemic by implementing the college's injury and illness prevention plan, which encompassed all necessary protocols for reopening safely. He was instrumental in ensuring compliance with evolving public health guidelines during a period of significant uncertainty.
Before relocating to the United States in 2015, Mr. Santa Rosa Silva built his career in Brazil's industrial sector. As environment, health and safety manager at Grupo Bravante from 2013 to 2015, he managed comprehensive safety programs within the oil and gas industry. Earlier, he worked as an occupational health and safety coordinator at L'Oréal Procosa RJ from 2011 to 2013, where he was responsible for site-wide safety initiatives.
Mr. Santa Rosa Silva started his professional journey with a chemical technician role at Dow from 2000 to 2008, followed by a junior engineer position at Embasa from 2009 to 2010, then project engineer position at Conen Infraestrutura Urbana from 2010 to 2011. These formative experiences provided him with a strong technical foundation that has informed his approach to health and safety management throughout his career.
His academic background is equally robust. Mr. Santa Rosa Silva earned a Master of Business Administration in business administration and management from San Diego University for Integrative Studies in 2019. This advanced degree was instrumental in enabling him to pursue higher-level positions upon moving to the United States. He also holds a postgraduate degree in occupational health and safety engineering from ISEGO , an undergraduate degree in sanitary and environmental engineering from Universidade Federal da Bahia and a technical diploma in chemistry from Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica da Bahia. The recognition of his Brazilian credentials as equivalent to those required in California stands as a testament to his academic rigor and perseverance.
An active member of the American Society of Safety Professionals, Mr. Santa Rosa Silva attributes his success to unwavering perseverance.
