Dr. Sulaimon has established an accomplished career in medical technology and the biomedical sciences sector, holding progressive leadership positions and making notable contributions in clinical research, regulatory strategy, scientific communication, and device development. In August 2025, she began providing independent consulting services within the medical technology sector, leveraging her extensive expertise to advise organizations on regulatory strategy, clinical research, product development, and portfolio management. Dr. Sulaimon collaborates with medical device firms to optimize clinical development programs and navigate complex regulatory requirements in global markets to accelerate their product approvals. Additionally, she delivers leadership and management consulting to support companies in developing robust, high-performing teams.

Prior to her current role as an Independent MedTech Consultant, Dr. Sulaimon served on the leadership team as a senior clinical research program manager at Medtronic, Cardiac Surgery Clinical Research and Medical Science (2021–2025). She led clinical and cross functional teams in obtaining EU-MDR approvals for a portfolio of Class I, II, III and IVDR medical devices, including surgical valves, cannula, perfusion, blood management, revascularization, and surgical ablation products. Her efforts resulted in the successful CE mark approvals of 53 Technical Dossiers, encompassing a diverse range of medical devices. Additionally, Dr. Sulaimon has dedicated herself to mentoring and coaching undergraduate students, fostering the next generation of professionals in her field.

From 2017 to 2021, Dr. Sulaimon served as medical writing manager at Medtronic, following her role as principal medical writer from 2016 to 2017. Earlier, she worked as a principal clinical research specialist between 2012 and 2016 and previously as a principal scientist and research and development scientific consultant from 2007 to 2011. Beyond Medtronic, Dr. Sulaimon also taught as an adjunct faculty instructor at Sonoma State University and Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa, California, between 2006 and 2007.

Dr. Sulaimon's commitment to the field extends to her involvement in industry-related organizations. She was nominated for a Women in Leadership Program and received a Women in Leadership Certification from the Society for Human Resource Management in October 2024, reflecting her dedication to professional development and advocacy for diversity within the workplace.

Before commencing her career, Dr. Sulaimon pursued higher education, earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria in 1994. She then obtained a Master of Science in biomedical sciences from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1999, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy in biomedical sciences from the same institution in 2003. Dr. Sulaimon completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Davis in 2005, providing her with advanced training in biomedical research methodologies.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Sulaimon is passionate about giving back to the community. She enjoys teaching, mentoring, volunteering, traveling and an art lover.
