From 1998 to 2005, Mr. Whitfield served as a technology and systems consultant at MKC Associates Inc. Earlier in his career, he held sales consultant positions, beginning at Acree-Daily Corporation in 1994, and then with Industrial Communications from 1995 to 1997 and SOUND.COM until 1998. In these roles, Mr. Whitfield honed his skills in client relations and technical sales, laying the groundwork for his later achievements in system design and consulting.
Mr. Whitfield began his professional journey as a systems designer at Walsh Sound Equipment from 1987 to 1994. This foundational experience allowed him to develop a comprehensive understanding of the industry as a systems integrator.
Mr. Whitfield's educational background included earning an associate degree in sales and marketing from North Central State College in 1977 and completing coursework in architecture at Kent State University and in business at The Ohio State University. He has also obtained several industry certifications that have enhanced his expertise. Mr. Whitfield completed the Firestop 101 from STI Firestop and became a DigitalMedia certified designer from Crestron Technical Institute. These credentials have enabled him to stay at the forefront of evolving technologies within his profession.
Committed to professional development, Mr. Whitfield has held a longstanding membership with the Audio Engineering Society since 1995, underscoring his dedication to technical excellence. Civically, he has been a member of Freemasonry for over three decades. He has also been engaged as a volunteer with Recreation Unlimited.
Throughout his longstanding career, Mr. Whitfield has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in technology design, data network infrastructure and related disciplines. He is widely regarded as one of the early pioneers in his field, particularly within Ohio, where only a handful of professionals initially developed processes for integrating advanced technology into building projects. Mr. Whitfield's contributions helped shape the standards for low-voltage and data systems management, an area that often extends beyond the expertise of traditional electrical engineers.
In light of his success, Mr. Whitfield has received team recognition awards for his design work, reflecting both individual excellence and collaborative success. He attributes much of his success to the work ethic instilled by his father and to maintaining his ethics.
