HIGH POINT, NC, September 23, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mikaela Olmsted, MA, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. With a wide range of experience encompassing the counseling, education and music industries, Ms. Olmsted has distinguished herself through her work as the senior admissions counselor of High Point University in North Carolina. Connecting with high school students aspiring to enter college and their families, she individualizes every meeting and aims to understand their academic and personal goals. Also an accomplished freelance clarinetist, she was a member of the High Point marching band and took part in several solo performances and recitals.

Ms. Olmsted has utilized her wealth of expertise throughout a storied career and educational endeavors at High Point University. After earning a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management as well as a Bachelor of Arts in music in 2020, she obtained a Master of Arts in communication and business leadership in 2021. She also served as a drum major for the High Point University Marching Panthers. While completing her studies, she worked at the school as an instrumental music librarian and tutored students as an instructional assistant. She then ascended to the role of admissions counselor and was promoted to her current position in 2023.

Noted for her achievements in the field, Ms. Olmsted has garnered a number of awards and recognitions. She was a recipient of the John Fallie and Sarah Holmes Scholarship, the High Point University Millis Scholarship and the Air Force Sergeant's Association Scholarship. In May 2020, her efforts were recognized by Dr. Marc Foster with the Most Outstanding Music Major award, which is presented to a graduating music major based on a student's grade point average, community outreach and involvement in the school's music department.

Known for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Ms. Olmsted took part in fundraising and donation drives for local elementary schools as part of her work with Kappa Kappa Psi and was a veteran service representative for Central Carolina Community College in 2018.

Though she counts many accomplishments throughout her professional journey, Ms. Olmsted is especially proud of her work while in charge of High Point University's counselor open house in 2023. During this time, she effectively organized four events, each hosting 60 high school counselors from all over the world. She was responsible for designing the whole program, including communications, sending out invitations and coordinating operations with the university's faculty staff. All four events turned out to be a major success for everyone involved.

In accounting for her achievements, Ms. Olmsted is most grateful for the upbringing and values instilled in her by her mother, who served in the military. She also stresses the importance of building meaningful relationships and understanding different perspectives in order to guide students along the best path to reach their goals.

Looking to the future, Ms. Olmsted plans to spend the coming years developing her guidance skills and growing as a leader. She hopes to land a leadership role and build her own team of counselors, shaping a new generation of trailblazers in the realm of higher education. With her experience, drive and ability to connect, she is uniquely positioned to accomplish her goals while having a vital impact on students, her community and society at large.
