In her role, she works closely with operations and the back offices of Morgan Stanley, UBS, and other financial institutions to develop— including service and onboarding — processes and procedures that are efficient while providing educational resources to improve internal understanding and performance.

Prior to joining BlackRock, Ms. Marais held the position of associate at Goldman Sachs for two years. In this capacity, she contributed to client management initiatives and operational improvements, further solidifying her reputation for delivering high-quality service in fast-paced financial environments. Her tenure at Goldman Sachs also led to her ongoing involvement as an alumna of the organization.

From 2022 to 2023, Ms. Marais worked in new client development at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where she focused on expanding the firm's client base and optimizing onboarding strategies for new accounts. Her efforts supported various growth objectives while ensuring a smooth transition for clients entering the organization.

Ms. Marais' career at Morgan Stanley spanned from 2017 to 2021, during which she began in wealth management before advancing to private wealth management. During her two years in private wealth management, she achieved her most notable professional milestone to date: being selected to join a new division known as Institutional Infrastructure Services.

Before entering the financial services sector, Ms. Marais served as a tissue recovery specialist at the nonprofit procurement agency Washington Regional Transplant Community (now Infinite Legacy) from 2013 to 2016. In this role, she facilitated tissue recovery operations, contributing to life-saving medical procedures.

In addition to her corporate achievements, Ms. Marais is in the process of serving her country in the United States Navy Reserve, demonstrating her commitment to public service and leadership beyond the private sector.

Hailing from an equally robust academic background, Ms. Marais earned a Master of Business Administration from Kogod School of Business at American University, graduating in 2017. This advanced degree provided her with critical business acumen and strategic insight, informing her work across several of the largest financial institutions nationwide. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in biology from George Mason University, completed in 2013 — a foundation that initially set her on a pre-medical path before transitioning into finance.

Ms. Marais earned Series 66 and Series 7 certifications from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in 2017. Although she did not initially intend to pursue work in the financial realm, she accepted a job offer from Morgan Stanley, which helped to fund her master's degree studies. Along the way, she discovered a newfound passion for the operations side of finance and has never looked back.

Reflecting on her journey thus far, Ms. Marais attributes her achievements to determination, ambition and especially the support of her family. She is also immensely grateful for the guidance and encouragement from friends and mentors throughout her journey at various companies.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Ms. Marais is deeply committed to civic engagement and helping those in need. From 2011 to 2012, she was a coordinator for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, supporting fundraising efforts for pediatric health care initiatives. As a mentor at Kogod School of Business, she has guided aspiring business professionals through their academic journeys. She also volunteers with Greater Chicago Food Depository and regularly hosts fundraising events, demonstrating outstanding dedication to community.

Ms. Marais enjoys indoor rock climbing, hiking and exploring new restaurants with her friends as a balance to her professional endeavors. Looking toward the future, she intends to remain involved with the United States Navy Reserve while making meaningful contributions through continued service.
